DIY. Sewing. A part of fashion that I’ve always wanted to dip my hand in. It’s actually a strange habit I picked up as I started to buy my own clothes. I tend to buy certain unwearable pieces (in my book) with the intent of altering them to better suit my taste and make them more original. Sort of.
I’ve always done the alterations by hand. With my mediocre talent in sewing and all, I still do it. I guess that’s how I’m built. I didn’t always have the money to …

I attended a family reunion of sorts, welcoming the new additions to the family. I loved the all-Filipino food served in an Al-fresco setting. I played the part of the photographer and listened to one of the most interesting family histories I’ve ever come across. Twas amazing how much old photos were preserved, three quarters of a century old.
Cargo pants I’m wearing is new, originally priced at Php 780.00, I got it for only Php 550.00 at one store in Ruins. I love the drawstring hem and the eclectic pockets …

Yes, that’s no stranger. It’s me now sporting a bob for 2008. I just had my hair cut last night over at F Salon in Greenbelt (super thanks, Phoebe!) and now I’m sitting on a bench at the valet area waiting for the car. We were on our way to a birthday party in Ortigas.
I’m wearing a pair of drawstring shorts that’s a couple of sizes up, hence, it being loose. Can actually pass off as gauchos, yeah? Hehe. It helped that it’s in black, too. It didn’t look too …

I bought these beauties at only Php 50.00 each over at Chick Flick. I loved the varied texture and earring design on each of these stud earrings. I gave in on a whim to buy the black one on the right. It’s so adorable and has this bohemian-slash-vintage feel to it that I couldn’t pass up. I have yet to style it in on an outfit. Will definitely show it off as soon as I come up with an outfit. I actually spotted a dress that will go well with …

I reckon I told you guys about these pendants before when I featured my Chick Flick ensemble. But taking a closer look, I wanted you guys to have the chance to compare the two and, of course, let you in on this fab tiangge (flea market) find. Naturally, I bought it from Chick Flick for only Php 150.00. Chick Flick is a great store that sells fashion accessories at a real bargain and is located at BF Ruins. And, yes. They also sell clothes. Cool, yeah?

Multi-strand Long Necklace, Metallic Gold Pearl & Beads
Php 200.00 BF Ruins
Quite a mouthful, eh? I just needed to find all the right words to describe the newest necklace I bought from this quaint little stall — it can’t even qualify as a full-pledged shop cuz you don’t go “in” — manned by a young woman, who just might be a little used to me haggling on each visit. LOL.
Lovely, lovely trinket, I must say.
The necklace triggered the purchase of this certain sexy brown dress. It was too good to pass …

Take a look at these gorgeous little ones I had recently adopted over the weekend. Eighties are back, people! LOL.
These bangles are what I’d like to call fun, with a capital F, accessories. These lovely things have graced my arm a couple of times now and made accessorising an outfit twice fun. It’s quite the rage, I’ve noticed, in shops anyway. I’ve discovered tonnes of stores selling them. I have yet to see them on (other) arms, though.
I had only considered buying a bangle or two but, obviously, I ended …

Dark Brown Tote with Zipper Accents
Ruins, BF Homes, Parañaque
Priced at Php 380.00
Having searched for a bag, not necessarily to replace my black Chanel bag but simply to ease off on its use because I’m in danger of ruining it completely. I’ve been using it to carry my baby (my 400D) around, you see. Well, on top of my Moleskine, wallet, a book or two, my kikay kit, etc, that is. It’s just too much load for a dainty handbag. So, whenever I’m out shopping, I’ve been on the lookout for …

Indeed, it’s a glorious love affair that I’m having with the dresses that seem to increasingly occupy my wardrobe space.
Apart from the ones I’m featuring here, I’ve got a few more stashed away. I simply love dresses. I do. They’re so easy to style and fits almost every event that I go to — from casual hanging out with girlfriends and clubbing to business meetings and press events. I find dresses so reliable!
Strapless Ruched Dress in Black with a tie-belt accent
The all-black theme of the dress gives it the elegance …

Don’t we just love shopping at a bargain? That’s why the Tiangge (flea market) form of retail is thriving, nay, flourishing in the Philippines. Don’t mistake that since products are seemingly sold in a flea market, it would mean that they’re old, second-hand or factory rejects. Not. At. All. You can actually find fashion gems in these small stores that are totally brand new and, sometimes, even one-of-a-kind.
During my last shopping spree, one of the shops I came across is sugaritta. I fell in love with this store’s interior. It’s …
