Yesterday was the start of The Great 3-Day Sale in ALL SM Stores — nationwide, I believe. And last night, together with a few people, I did hit the nearest one to see if shopping will be as great as they claimed it would be. I guess, as much as I hate to say it, this is one sale event that’s worth the trip.
I’ve always steered clear of sale events just because of the crowd, often poor selections, and the traffic. Since it’s the first day and we were there …

This accessory rack is actually a bit old. Twas a gift from my sister for my mum. But I was there when she bought it. I remember we found it in Glorietta, Makati City. I forget the name of the shop, though. I have to visit the mall again and re-trace my steps. It costs around Php 500.00. They had a lot of options you can choose from.

In a conversation I had a few days ago, a sentiment on the subject of shoes was raised. She had voiced an apparent disdain on the makes of available shoes lately. Yes, some still prefer to own shoes that can last at least a couple years before they throw it away. And yes, a lot of the shoes in the market right now are affordable but of poor quality.
As a shoe person, I do love to buy pairs just for the heck of it. Don’t mind that it’ll go out …

There’s a reason why individuals are drawn to certain things in life. In the area of fashion, you’ll notice how we’ve put importance on what sort of clothes you wear rather on how you wear them. Most have the notion that wearing designer labels or branded items will automatically earn them a ticket to becoming the a recognised fashionista. But we all know that it’s not true, right?
I’ve noticed that Manila has become the next destination of well-known brands, ones you had only seen in them Western magazines. I’m hearing …

The subject of this current fashion mania revolving around the now infamous bow headband popularised by Gossip Girl character, Blair Waldorf, has been raised by tv series fans and fashionistas alike. Admittedly, I wasn’t aware that this little hair accessory has taken Manila ladies for a spin since I have never watched a single episode of the tv series.
Over Plurk, Lia of Gadgenista.com had voiced her disdain over the current fad, stating that girls ought not to wear the headband just because it’s trendy; it wouldn’t automatically mean the headband …

The creations of Anna Leah Salvador were showcased during Day 2 of the 2008 Philippine Fashion Week the New Generation Collection last Tuesday, 27 May 2008.

A very black and white set. Lots of LBD ideas. There were a couple of repeats, though. That’s a no-no in doing a show. I wish they kept the top hat on all the models, seemingly like the signature look. Love that bit.

DIY. Sewing. A part of fashion that I’ve always wanted to dip my hand in. It’s actually a strange habit I picked up as I started to buy my own clothes. I tend to buy certain unwearable pieces (in my book) with the intent of altering them to better suit my taste and make them more original. Sort of.
I’ve always done the alterations by hand. With my mediocre talent in sewing and all, I still do it. I guess that’s how I’m built. I didn’t always have the money to …

I’d like you guys to meet Bonita Styles. Don’t be deceived. She’s a bad influence.

She may be looking all fashionable dressed up in that cute green number, cool white sunnies and sporting that funky ‘do but she comes bearing 6 tempting offers, good enough to give in.
Go on. I know you so want to know what the heck I’m talking about.

These days wherein most women are working towards keeping up with the trends and all things modern when it comes to their personal style, the appeal of age and antiques on apparel and accessories aren’t all that popular. Apart from the fact that we do find it intimidating to collect and relatively confusing to pick out which ones have that unique vintage characteristic, we often mistake that wearing the trends will automatically equate to our being stylish. But we all know that it’s not true now, don’t we?
Vintage fashion is …
