Favourites and Double Takes

It has to be said. I love my new pair of shoes from Charles & Keith. It actually inspired me to put a little effort (more than usual) in dressing up. Quite helpful since I really need distractions at present. Focusing a portion of my energy to create these outfit posts certainly made each day a little more fun. I need fun.
Complementing the pair is the new bomber jacket; happy that we’ve been seeing lots of rain last week!

As I try to come up with a variety of looks, …

Inspire Me

There comes a time in a person’s life that one would feel that a change is imminent. Either consciously triggered or by accident, a fresh wave is welcomed to somehow push one out of his or her comfort zone. Or perhaps one is simply in need of a new challenge. It’s all part of getting to know one’s person.
Personally, I speak of a change in an over-all style, both in apparel and look. Perhaps twas fated, written in my stars, or inspired by what I’ve encountered along the way. I …

At Manila Yacht Club, Anne Morata

As I was headed towards Manila that late Sunday afternoon, my head was filled with hope that it was a great opportunity for me to get out of this fashion blogging slump that I’ve managed to find myself in. It’s been a while since I last took a photo for street fashion so I was gearing myself up to mix a bit of work in on my personal time. I’ve been guilty of working on a few other things over the weekend anyway so as I walk the planks that …

5 Things I Look for as an Online Shopper

Shopping will always be a part of my life. I love shopping, I mean, who doesn’t? There’s something about it that makes me feel better. Considering that I’m too busy to do it nowadays, one would think I’d finally resort to simply going the online route since I basically live and breathe internet, being online 24/7 and all. But, it’s true, I’m still no convert.
When it comes to shopping, I guess, I’m what you can call a traditionalist. I do prefer checking out the things I like in person. I …

At the Look of Style Event, Tessa Prieto-Valdes

One of the individuals chosen to be part of The Look of Style Photo Exhibit is Lifestyle columnist, host of “House Life” on QTV and co-owner of Urban Spa, Tessa Prieto-Valdes.

Her personal style is labeled as Outrageously unique and I dare say that her fashion is well-known for it’s show-stopping attribute, tells us she’s got spunk and was quite clear when she showed up with that vintage head piece and adorned with a pair of falsies that you’d think would only grace beauty editorials and not worn in real life. …

Plaid Trend Goes Mainstream

It’s been talked about at the end of the last quarter of 2008 and as expected the Plaid trend had gained a lot of traction beginning of 2009 and over the course of the past months have entered the mainstream. The fashionable public had took it on like how a dog is with a bone.
While I was killing time and waiting for the rain to subside at Starbucks in Santana Grove over the weekend, I spotted a couple of MMA (Multimedia Arts) students from DLSU-CSB at a nearby table sporting …

The Tsinelas Culture

Filipinos are generally simple; bound by traditions and held back by superstitions (IMO) — perhaps attributed to its religious nature. Anyway, noting our National Costumes: the Baro’t Saya and the Barong, these pieces somewhat says it all. Though it offers formality, one can’t deny that they still lack the sophistication of a cocktail dress and the sleekness of a suit, respectively. But that’s how our country’s fashion was founded — in simplicity and modesty.
That’s probably why a lot of Philippine fashion designers excel in gowns, I’m guessing it’s an extreme …

Style Fix: Going for Length

Admitting that going maxi is all the rage right now (echoes really, but who cares?) but the idea of wearing maxi dresses to work may be a bit of a stretch so let’s trim the length down a bit (or should I say up?) and go for ones that fall below the knee or ones that reach down to the mid-calf. This style idea covers both dresses and skirts. It manages to pull off the same drama and sophistication without sacrificing your professional look.

For all the working women who …

Style Fix: Back-to-School, Rainy Season and Hoodies

It’s that time of the year again when young people prep themselves as the new school year starts. Some will proceed as scheduled but the others had theirs postponed to a later date due to needed precautions for the A(H1N1).
Also, the past week had given us a taste of the wet season. Yes. Undoubtedly, the rainy days have finally arrived. Time to cover up a bit. Arm ourselves with jackets, umbrellas, rainboots, etc. Which had me wondering, don’t you think that sporting hoodies would give your outfit a practical but …
