Off to Work in Flats

By tradition, Mondays mean a work outfit that leans toward the more formal business or corporate attire (at least from experience). It’s probably due to all the meetings and such which are usually held on this work day. But there are three (3) reasons why I opted to wear flats with a dress on a Monday.

Reason 1. Current weather.
I didn’t want to get caught in a work attire which can be troublesome in case of a downpour. It’s actually a stretch that I wore a dress.
Reason 2. Giving my feet …

Work Wear: Black and Green

If you missed the announcement, let me take this opportunity to mention it again (esp if you’re starting to wonder on the lack of posts) I’ve officially entered the rat race again — after more than a couple of years of sabbatical, mind you. The past few weeks have been a toss among several hats that I’m close to vetoing my latest career decision. Gah.
With all the adjustments I’m doing, I’m suffering from sleep deprivation and bad skin days (yech), throw in hair blah moments cuz I simply can’t …

At the Look of Style Event, Amina Aranaz-Alunan

Also in the spotlight during the Look of Style photo exhibit launch was bag designer and School of Fashion and the Arts (SoFA) founder Amina Aranaz-Alunan.

The Glamour Girl style of Amina was captured in the photo — styled in a cream embellished cocktail dress from Amir Sali, silver multi-strap shoes from YSL and a diamond drop earrings re-worked by Jul B. Dizon — showcased in the exhibit. And the outfit she wore to the event (as seen on the photo) is a definite eye-catcher as well. Amina admits that she …

At the Look of Style Event, Tessa Prieto-Valdes

One of the individuals chosen to be part of The Look of Style Photo Exhibit is Lifestyle columnist, host of “House Life” on QTV and co-owner of Urban Spa, Tessa Prieto-Valdes.

Her personal style is labeled as Outrageously unique and I dare say that her fashion is well-known for it’s show-stopping attribute, tells us she’s got spunk and was quite clear when she showed up with that vintage head piece and adorned with a pair of falsies that you’d think would only grace beauty editorials and not worn in real life. …

Plaid Trend Goes Mainstream

It’s been talked about at the end of the last quarter of 2008 and as expected the Plaid trend had gained a lot of traction beginning of 2009 and over the course of the past months have entered the mainstream. The fashionable public had took it on like how a dog is with a bone.
While I was killing time and waiting for the rain to subside at Starbucks in Santana Grove over the weekend, I spotted a couple of MMA (Multimedia Arts) students from DLSU-CSB at a nearby table sporting …

At the Leo Salinas Show, Rica Rico

One of the popular dresses this season is this adorable ruffled strapless number. I was actually on my way home from the Leonardo Salinas show with the shoe lady, waiting at the Makati Shang driveway for the car, when I spotted this young lady huddled with her friends. I took a chance in asking for a photo, to which she readily agreed to, thankfully. She accessorised in black with a chic ‘do and hardly any jewelry, ending up with a look that’s both youthful and glam, appropriate for the night’s …

Northern Trek: Eastwood Mall

My yellow Forever 21 eyelet top matched the sunny Saturday afternoon spent in Eastwood. According to Ajay, the weather was perfect. I guess folks are getting tired of the wet days we’ve been having for weeks now. I reckon I’m thankful that while I was getting ready, there was no sign of rain cuz it meant it was possible for me to wear my new shoes from VNC. So, no. I drove and not walked. Heh.
Since I hardly go out during the day, sunny at that, I love wearing an …

At the PFW Holiday 2009, Teresa Herrera

It really shouldn’t surprise you if you’d happen to bump into a familiar face in the crowd in one of these fashion events esp if that person is the host of Project Runway Philippines and the face of Crossing’s The Ramp. Who else am I referring to but the lady with the luminous beauty, Teresa Herrera.
One of the best things I like about this lady — apart from an impeccable sense of style — is that she’s warm and accommodating. Teresa was there to support her sister, Rosario Herrera, one …

At the PFW Holiday 2009, Charo Ronquillo

I love White. I love how it looks so clean, polished and elegant. I wish I can easily pull off wearing an all-white outfit. Heck, I feel so uncomfortable with just wearing white shoes. Can you imagine an entire outfit? Gah. But take this prized Filipina beauty Charo Ronquillo spotted during the Philippine Fashion Week Holiday 2009 doing exactly what I can’t. Wear an all-white outfit.
I heart her pantsuit, complete with the peek-a-boo thingie that accentuates the haltered neckline. I can’t say it’s a plunge but it did give …

At the PFW Holiday 2009, Earl Semitaro

Now, it’s Earl’s turn. He made it look easy for a guy to get away with wearing jeans riding up to his knees, buttoned up polo with ruched up sleeves — showing off his heavily tattooed arms, I should add — topped off with ribbon tie. How come they can wear stuff like these, high-cut kicks no less, and still look stylish somehow? I’m baffled.
This is one of the times that I curse our society’s double standards. Men have more freedom in expressing their personal style but critiques come …
