Something New: Shu Uemura Nobara Cream Cover Stick Foundation

Another interesting addition to my Shu Uemura shopping list. This list seems to grow longer each week. Heh. But I simply couldn’t resist the urge to check this baby out.
The cult favourite foundation now comes in stick form. Shu Uemura introduces the Nobara Cream Cover Stick Foundation.
Formulated to give the instant high coverage of a concealer with the smooth glide of a foundation.
Benefits:
* Three types of oils, gliding, light and emollient, combine to enhance the foundation’s spreadibility, creaminess and comfort felt when applied to the skin.

Webcam Fun (An FOTD)

It’s a sick day (been sick since Saturday afternoon) but it’s not going to stop me from having a bit of fun. While leaving Jerry Maguire on telly, I tinkered with Skype — taking snapshots via the webcam.

Found it a bit disconcerting to be using a webcam to take a photo, a first for me. Hehe

I should be resting this fever out instead of doing silly things but hey sure was fun! LOL

Most decent out of the lot. Hopefully, you folks can see the makeup.
I had grown a bit …

Something New: Shu Uemura Eyebrow Gel

Do you do your eyebrows whenever you put on makeup? One of the things I learned late in this whole makeup thing is how one would benefit from including it. But once I discovered how it contributes in the over-all look, I do my best to remember to do my eyebrows every time.
For some, their eyebrows may need a bit more work than the rest. Apart from the usual shaping via threading, plucking or shaving, it’s useful to learn how to fill in the gaps — this is most …

A Semi-Working Weekend in Tagaytay

Over the weekend, I attended a wedding up in Tagaytay. Apart from being one of the groom’s guests, I played makeup artist-slash-hair stylist for two girls who are part of the entourage. A tricky thing, actually. It means I need more time in terms of prepping. All of us live in Manila and the wedding venue is more than a good hour’s worth of travel, we all decided to camp out up the mountain, brings us nearer and cuts down the commute to more than half so this gives us …

Sunday, Another Errand Day

It’s all part of growing up. Responsibilities multiply and would either nag you into irritation or push you to be a better person. No matter how much stomping you do, they simply won’t go away. Best to accept and deal with them accordingly. Our portions are as it should be. It’s all a matter of patience and good time management.
Waking up at 3am wasn’t part of the plan and had laboured to go back to sleep but was unsuccessful. I dragged my arse off my bed and decided to …

Beauty Review: Shu Uemura Depsea Water Facial Mist, Sage

How far will you go in terms of caring for your skin? Interesting question, actually. It’s one of the more important beauty questions one should ask herself (or some cases, himself). Will using a facial wash and toner combo for cleansing enough to remove heavy makeup? Do you schedule facials and peelings as part of your regular skincare regimen? Do buy loads of beauty products — day creams, night creams, facial scrubs, etc — just to be certain that your skin is properly taken care of?
Personally, though I’m no facial …

At the Shu Uemura Event, John Pagaduan

While taking a break from the Shu Uemura Event happening inside The Spa in Bonifacio High Street, Char and I were later joined by Stella’s EIC Geolette who had struck up a conversation with a stylish guy in black. The stranger mentioned that he was wearing Kate Torralba which explains why I quickly asked if I could take his photo.
I was then introduced to an Accredited Makeup Artist of Shu Uemura, John Pagaduan.
He’s definitely not a stranger anymore. Heehee.
Thanks for letting me publish your photo, John!

At the Shu Uemura Event, Anna Castillo

Okay. So, she’s not exactly giving us an idea of what her personal style is like but her rendition of a Geisha is awesome nonetheless. I first met Anna Castillo at the Make Your Own Havaianas 2009 Launch night through Cheska of Shu Uemura. They both work for L’Oreal Philippines. When I saw Anna, I couldn’t stop myself from asking her if people tell her that she looks like Jenny Humphrey aka Little J of Gossip Girl. Well, she really doesn’t look, look like her but if you see Anna …

The Thin and Short of It

For folks who helped me make up my mind via Plurk, here’s a look at the short and thin black number I ended up wearing. Yes, it’s short enough since it rides up a good 6 inches above the knee and thin enough to tempt you not to wear anything underneath for fear of knicker lines ruining it. Thoughts?
I was facing back-to-back events that night and just thinking about it was already stressful. I wasn’t particularly looking forward to dressing up and putting makeup on. I knew I’ll be …

I Made My Own Havaianas

I now own a one of a kind (unless by some miracle you ended up with the same style) Style Manila flip-flops courtesy of Havaianas. And it’s Pink! Just about as surprising as the heavy downpour that signaled the end of the night for my friends and I. It’s probably best if I explain the reason behind the choice.

Just got back from the Make Your Own Havaianas 2009 Launch held at the Rockwell Tent; bagged a new pair of blinged up Havaianas and basically had a fun night with a …
