A Dose of PILL

Local-made. Marikina, to be exact. Yes, folks. I’ve managed to stumble upon a seller of Marikina-made shoes over at the Christmas Carnivale Bazaar held at Ayala Alabang, which I went to last Saturday. This ought to be good news for those of you who are looking to buy pairs made from Marikina.
PILL. Proudly Philippine-made.

When I asked the sales person regarding the designs. I was informed that the owners of Pill are behind it. Personal thoughts on the current selection (or the ones available at the bazaar), most are influenced by …

The Case of the Shoe Binge

Twas a Tuesday. A bad day. For the first time in my life I actually took myself to see a doctor. I’m not too keen on the matter. It’s probably due to this thing of having been hospitalised for almost two (2) months when I was 7, countless trips for check ups, medical exams and visits and then, on top of that, a semi-recent experience which involved the ICU (no, I wasn’t the one who got admitted but someone real close). So, there. Need I say more?
Going back to my …

Relapse Or Love

I’d choose love, of course. Then again, there’s this thing about denial.

Can you really blame me?

I’ve been trying not to buy shoes but I just couldn’t help myself when I spotted this beauty.

I have to admit that when I stepped into the VNC store in Alabang, I immediately was drawn to a couple of other pairs before setting my sights on this one. Among the three top choices, I opted for this one and I reckon I can come back for the rest if I truly want them. (Haunt …

Off to Work in Flats

By tradition, Mondays mean a work outfit that leans toward the more formal business or corporate attire (at least from experience). It’s probably due to all the meetings and such which are usually held on this work day. But there are three (3) reasons why I opted to wear flats with a dress on a Monday.

Reason 1. Current weather.
I didn’t want to get caught in a work attire which can be troublesome in case of a downpour. It’s actually a stretch that I wore a dress.
Reason 2. Giving my feet …

Greyone Social and the Kicks Trend

This particular style takes me back to the glory days of punk fashion in the 80s and the staple street fashion of the early 90s. It’s the hippest and coolest thing for young people to wear then. Think rolled up shirt sleeves, bold colours (neon even) straight cuts and boom boxes. Checked deck on the pavement, enough room for some break dancing on the streets.
There are a number of elements to this style that’s worth looking into but let’s just focus on the footwear today. The time for this …

VNC Arm and Feet Candies

One of the things that I enjoy about being a woman is our affinity with fashion. Men will never begin to understand the joys of shopping and the act of dressing up but does it really matter? We take pleasure in putting together an outfit, wearing that pair of shoes and lugging around that favourite handbag. Call it superficial but women can argue otherwise.
Among fashionistas, there are shoe people and there are bag people. However, it doesn’t have to be that women stick with their respective preferences but there are …

Shoe Shopping at VNC

Slipping on a new pair of shoes never fail to send thrill down my spine. Combine it with thoughts of style possibilities then it brings me closer to bliss. Wrap it in a box, shove it in a paper bag then hand it to me to bring home will surely keep that smile on my face and skip to my step. Shoes, my weakness. That is all.

It was my first time to seriously browse the shoe selection of Malaysian brand VNC. They’ve been around since 2003 and it’s only two …

Shoe Shopping at Promod

I’d like to say it’s a hot tiangge find but I can’t. This baby caused a Php 2,295.00 dent. But the pair had lessened the blow of the disappointment I faced when the pair of jeans I was looking into getting at Promod wasn’t available. They didn’t have my size in stock and they can’t say if or when they’d re-stock it. Heartbroken as I was, my feelings were easily swayed by this pair of ballerina/ballet flats. I reckon, better a worthy substitute than go home empty handed. What a …

Ukay-Ukay Shopping at The Ukay Manila Store

If the US has the Salvation Army and goodwill stores for recessionistas to thrift shop, our own local version is fondly called ukay-ukay shopping. Recession or not, this has been a known practice for those fashionistas on the prowl for individuality, love for vintage and all-around style kick unique to fashion finds in such stores. It just doesn’t hurt that you end up saving a buck or two.
Most are enamoured to ukay-ukay shopping, seeing that it does offer unique fashion treasures at an incredibly low price; making a single trip …
