I Heart Vintage Collection by Parvatti

Received an email from Egg of Parvatti today, inviting me to view her latest collection of vintage jewelry that’s now up on her multiply site. Of course, with my personal experience with buying vintage pieces from Parvatti, I couldn’t resist the urge of checking the collection out. On top of that, Egg had further tickled my fancy when she mentioned that the collection was inspired by the Jane Austen novel, Pride & Prejudice — meant to commemorate the month of hearts. I’m a huge Austen fan and that very novel …

Waiting for the Train

Just missed the 5:20pm train so I ended up with half an hour of wait time for the next one. I was on my way to the city where my ride is. We were heading to Norwood to meet some people over at a cafe (turned out to be Caffe Primo - Norwood) on The Parade.
Since I opted for a the Miss Co Shoulder Bag that day, I wasn’t able to bring anything with me to entertain save my camera so I thought, might as well indulge in …

Barefoot in Maslin Beach

Unscheduled stop at the beach in one of the family outings around South Australia. After a lunch of Fish & Chips at the Star of Greece and taking in the gorgeous view, we decided to head off to Maslin Beach since my mum hasn’t seen it. Twas my 2nd time.
This explains my off-look in relation to where I was. Took off Becky and walked barefoot. A bit of a cold (but sunny!) day for the beach for me. You won’t notice it but I just woke up from sleeping …

Strawberry Picking

Went to a Strawberry Farm up in the hills that day. It was a cool trip. I love the rich greens compared to the somewhat dry landscape you’d see on the flat lands surrounding the city. The trip also reminded me of the time when we went strawberry picking in Trinidad Valley up in Benguet during one of our Baguio trips. Nothing beats drinking fresh strawberry shakes!
It’s quite a novel thing, this getting to eat freshly picked strawberries. It’s cool that you’re actually allowed to do eat as much as …

Charmed

Why do women want to adorn themselves with jewelry? We can’t deny the feeling of enjoyment in wearing necklaces around our necks, bracelets around our wrists, earring on our earlobes and rings on our fingers. We feel a little more pretty each time, yes?
This love for jewelry (real or not) does not come with age or understanding. Even little ones like my 20-month old niece, loves the idea of wearing toy bracelets, my sister’s necklaces and such, too. She always has this sweet smile on her face soon after putting …

A Christmas Evening

This photo was taken around 8-ish. Just a bit of a break. Hanging out at the kids’ playground in my sis’ backyard; enjoying a cuppa’ and smokes. Weather was a bit warm for the hefty Christmas Lunch (nom nom nom nom!!!) with family and friends that happened earlier but turned a lil’ chilly in the evening.
The top’s a cami in sunshine yellow that I got as a Christmas gift from my sister and her family, the cardi’s one of the stuff I recently bought and my earrings are new, too! …

Pearl, Rose and Vintage Jewelry

It’s amazing that I had the opportunity to check out one of the best bazaars I’ve been to in the South and having had great fortune in buying this precious trinket from Parvatti. You simply can’t help but fall in love with Vintage jewelry if this is the sort of piece that you’d find.
Pearls and that gorgeous rose make up this 58 year old necklace that traveled all the way from Paris to Manila (and is now in Australia, btw). Its timeless and elegant beauty had captured the hearts of …

Parvatti Pendant on Penny

One of the pieces from Parvatti is this Keyhole Pendant + Pearl chain that my friend, Penny, bought that night at the Christmas Carnivale Bazaar in Ayala Alabang. Isn’t it pretty?
Great thing about vintage items is that it can be really affordable. Apart from the fact that you can sometimes haggle prices, certain items are aptly valued and sold at a fairly decent price. This piece originally costs Php 500.00 but Penny only shelled out Php 400.00 (thanks, Egg!). Good deal, yes?
Not only are you bringing home something unique, you’re …
