Because I fell in love with the MAC face powder (MAC Mineralize SkinFinish Natural) which I recently bought, I decided to buy the foundation under the same Mineralize line, the MAC Mineralize SatinFinish Foundation, since I’m in the market to get a new bottle of liquid makeup anyway.
Again, I’m still not used to folks telling me that I ought to get certain makeup in shades lighter than I’m used to. I do know that MAC in 30 (shade) will work well with my skin tone and I have to …

This was actually my first stop during that fated Tuesday shopping spree (see Shoe binge post). I’ve been putting my trip to a MAC counter for so long that when I did find myself in Glorietta, I just knew I’m not going to deny my need any longer.
I was in the market for a face powder and I’m curious if MAC had anything good for me to try. Of course, I know that MAC is a trusted cosmetics brand but the question on whether it will suit me (in terms …

Makeup came gradually in my life. I came from being a little tomboy that scoffs at the idea of such a fussy, “girl-y” routine to a lady that sees its morale boosting potential; from detesting occasions when my mum would have an MUA do my makeup to never needing one anymore; from being a clueless shopper to an experimental one. It’s been a beautiful journey of discovery.
Initial thoughts as a newbie, I really didn’t see myself benefiting from using a foundation makeup. I had thought you only need it if …

Most women now wear more skirts, dresses, and shorts than they do jeans. For some, it’s inevitable since they’re required either for work or school, and the rest prefer them for style reasons. Either way, these women will definitely pay more attention to their legs since these skirts, dresses, and shorts do show off this part of the female body.
Of course, one would automatically think that the need to shave or wax off the hair on the legs is important. Or perhaps, if one would opt to go the traditional …

One of my favourite looks for the past couple of months includes this makeup pairing — MAC Mineralize Blush Duo in Grand Duo and Frost Lipstick in Bombshell. I reckon you may remember these babies from my M & M Shopping last April. Now, it’s time to document my thoughts on them. I know it’s not enough that I’d simply tell you folks that I love them, yes?
Primer: “Curiously, I don’t really wear pink lipstick but when I tried this one on, I couldn’t believe that it actually looked …

This may not be true for some but, personally, my Summer makeup preference will often include lippies.
When we talk of lippies, we can either mean the actual lipstick or refer to glosses. In this case, I’m talking about a couple of glosses that I’ve managed to get my hands on. Though my MAC lipsticks (Modesty, What A Do! & Bombshell) may have been huge distractions, I haven’t forgotten that I still owe you folks a bit of a closer look on these two babies.
A quick refresher, I bought the …

It’s funny how I ended up posting my review on the Neutrogena liquid foundation first before this blush which I’ve been using relatively far longer. Heh. But I’m glad that I’ve finally managed to sit down and get my thoughts down on this makeup. Note that the following statements will be coming from a very satisfied customer. I’m actually loving this blush, the Neutrogena Soft Color Blush in Divine Wine (90).
After my passionate love affair with the NARS Blush in Super Orgasm, I thought I’d find it difficult to find …

So okay before I forget to post my review on the Neutrogena makeup that landed in my vanity kit recently, I thought I’d do it today. I decided to do my makeup earlier when I went on an afternoon walk with Anika for an FOTD (I’ll be posting this shortly) so I reckon what’s the best time to try them out and finally finish the review, yes?
First up is the liquid foundation, Neutrogena Mineral Sheers Liquid Makeup in Natural Beige (60).
Honestly, I was a bit skeptical about this one. Like …

It takes practice. At least, that’s how it was for me when it came to learning how to apply eye makeup. If you know the fundamentals of creative art — i.e. colour charts, lights and shadows — a large dose of imagination (cuz it helps a lot if you can picture the “eye makeup” in your head) plus, like I said, practice, you can successfully put on decent eye makeup. You know your face best, anyway.
And now that I do know how to do it, I’m now obsessed. Constantly trying …

Maybelline
BlushStudio Mousse
Next on my list of makeup must-haves is the blush. I reckon that’s why I had gone great lengths (distance-wise) to get the NARS Super O and I’ve been shopping for other fabulous options for a blush. A surprising great find came from an equally surprising (though I should’ve expected it) source, my mum. It’s Maybelline New York BlushStudio Mousse or also known as Dream Mousse Blush.
Reading up on the product tells me that it has an air-soft formula which provides luminous, long-lasting color on cheeks. It’ll glide on …
