Early this month, news reached me that Kaye Olfindo had released her Holiday 2009 Collection with four (4) distinct dress designs perfect for the ladies who love playing dress up. I reckon this bit is perfect news for us with parties and formals to either throw or attend.
Wouldn’t it be great to wear something that’s made esp for you?
Meet the dresses:
VIDA (Php 2,500) Bamboo cotton dress with beaded neckline.
LAILA (Php 2,500) Poly-acetate dress with removable belt and brooch.
TAMAR (Php 3,500). Satin and leatherette dress with detachable belt.
LUNA …

Torn between sharing this bit of news cuz I really wouldn’t want to be the cause of depleted Holiday bonuses plus the fact that pay day’s coming up. However, how can I not tell you ladies about this?
It’s a brief report on the Holiday 2009 Trends from The Ramp and here’s their list narrowed down to 10 with Teresa Herrera working it to jump start style ideas —
Embellishments
Always. At least, that’s what I believe. Makes an outfit more interesting, creates that personal touch on style, spices up an otherwise boring …

Sometimes, the reason why I’m not all too excited about checking out collections from local designers is, it can be expected that I’ll just be seeing gowns with elaborate and intricate designs, accents and embellishments. Don’t get me wrong. It’s not that I find them bland or poorly made, in fact, it’s the opposite. Most works are enchanting and wonderful. It’s something to be admired and be proud of.
However, Philippine fashion isn’t all about cocktail parties, heck, folks in Manila hardly dress formal. Gowns are saved for debutantes, brides, Reyna …

It really shouldn’t surprise you if you’d happen to bump into a familiar face in the crowd in one of these fashion events esp if that person is the host of Project Runway Philippines and the face of Crossing’s The Ramp. Who else am I referring to but the lady with the luminous beauty, Teresa Herrera.
One of the best things I like about this lady — apart from an impeccable sense of style — is that she’s warm and accommodating. Teresa was there to support her sister, Rosario Herrera, one …

I love White. I love how it looks so clean, polished and elegant. I wish I can easily pull off wearing an all-white outfit. Heck, I feel so uncomfortable with just wearing white shoes. Can you imagine an entire outfit? Gah. But take this prized Filipina beauty Charo Ronquillo spotted during the Philippine Fashion Week Holiday 2009 doing exactly what I can’t. Wear an all-white outfit.
I heart her pantsuit, complete with the peek-a-boo thingie that accentuates the haltered neckline. I can’t say it’s a plunge but it did give …

Now, it’s Earl’s turn. He made it look easy for a guy to get away with wearing jeans riding up to his knees, buttoned up polo with ruched up sleeves — showing off his heavily tattooed arms, I should add — topped off with ribbon tie. How come they can wear stuff like these, high-cut kicks no less, and still look stylish somehow? I’m baffled.
This is one of the times that I curse our society’s double standards. Men have more freedom in expressing their personal style but critiques come …

Under normal circumstances, I steer clear of mens fashion simply because, personally, I find it hard to spot the great looking outfits. I reckon when it comes to guys, I would prefer for them to go the safe route — stick to classics and such. However, whenever I do see ones that are significant enough (at least in my opinion), I can’t help but gather up a bit of courage to be forward enough to ask for that photo.
Whilst scouting the area for stylish folks in Philippine Fashion Week, …

Can you guess why I favoured her outfit? Apart from it being a Black & White ensemble, I love the layers, uneven hemline, the multi-strand necklaces and the Zebra (yes, the actual head of the animal and not just the stripes) print on her sleeveless cotton tunic. Personally, I would’ve opted for a different pair of shoes, dropped the sporty looking watch but, heck, the over-all impact of the outfit still scored an 8 from me. I applaud folks for opting to go for edgy outfits for events like the …

One of the outfits that stood out for me while I milled about the foyer at the 3rd level of SMX after the breathtaking Ronaldo Arnaldo Solo Show. Striking was the first thing that came to mind. To be quite honest, I was hesitant to come up to her and ask if I could take her photo for fear of rejection but good thing she said yes. Heehee.
I love the blazer. I want one. Been looking for one. She has one. Can I have it? LOL. I kid. I love …
