Sometimes, all it takes is a single piece to usher in a new flavour in your personal style. Either amp-ing it up or adding another an unusual dimension to your look. Change is upon us. I reckon it’s time to welcome new things.
Urban style brands Stussy and Dissizit available at Greyone Social give you a couple of ideas.
You can opt for the Stussy Straw Hat or feed that inner shirt fiend with Dissizit Foxy Lady. Jazz up your outfit by choosing a shirt with a fantastic graphic or top your …

This post is one of the many late feature posts I’ve got lined up. I can’t believe we’re halfway through 2010 and I’m still writing about dated things. Believe me, I wanted to leave these things un-featured but having come across a few photos of these dresses caused me to stop and re-think that decision. They’ve become a couple of my favourite dresses so I know I had to share them with you folks.
First up is this adorable dress I bought on sale. Found in Promod’s “Nice Price” rack, a …

As mentioned in my previous post, I’m here to report my latest purchases from Promod. After the fastest recorded time I’ve ever shopped (under an hour!) to date, I’ve managed to bag two (2) pieces plus a little something extra from one store and don’t forget that I did shop at Warehouse right before that.
One is a Cropped Cord Trouser.
Aside from the cord material, I’m loving the little details that make up the entire thing. From pockets, front and back, to belt catchers. It also has the casual turn …

Move over Topshop. A new favourite’s in town. Situated in one of the newest malls (Greenbelt 5!) to hit the urban jungle of Makati is a gem of a fashion store called Warehouse. Have you folks checked it out? Well, I did. Last night — between Bebo and a Facebook Page also after finishing a Jamaican Cheesy Beef Patty in a mad-rush — I stepped through its doors the second time in a work week but like what they always say, second time’s a charm. I didn’t leave the store …

Earlier, I had dropped by the PROMOD store at Greenbelt 5 to pick up the outfit I’ll be wearing for tomorrow night’s event. Plans were a bit last minute but I’m glad things worked out. Initially, I thought I was all on my own but having to work through an approximately 100sq m of store space filled with tonnes of fabulous options, not to mention that I’m already pressed for time, a little help was greatly appreciated.
Enters PROMOD’s in-house stylist, Carla Abdon.
It’s my first time to work with a stylist, …

This particular style takes me back to the glory days of punk fashion in the 80s and the staple street fashion of the early 90s. It’s the hippest and coolest thing for young people to wear then. Think rolled up shirt sleeves, bold colours (neon even) straight cuts and boom boxes. Checked deck on the pavement, enough room for some break dancing on the streets.
There are a number of elements to this style that’s worth looking into but let’s just focus on the footwear today. The time for this …

I’d like to say it’s a hot tiangge find but I can’t. This baby caused a Php 2,295.00 dent. But the pair had lessened the blow of the disappointment I faced when the pair of jeans I was looking into getting at Promod wasn’t available. They didn’t have my size in stock and they can’t say if or when they’d re-stock it. Heartbroken as I was, my feelings were easily swayed by this pair of ballerina/ballet flats. I reckon, better a worthy substitute than go home empty handed. What a …

Brocade. That was the first thing that came to mind. Then Lace. A romantic take on the classic Black & White dress. The look made current with the footwear choice and check out that fab accessory, an LV speedy. I reckon you can’t expect anything less than stylish from the personal style of Stella Magazine’s Editor-in-Chief, Geolette Esguerra. I had managed to catch her and take a snap of her before she left to go to another event.
Twas great meeting you, Geolette and thanks for letting me publish your photo! …

One of the faces that stood out on the catwalk is this lady. Mira Baino walked the ramp for the PROMOD SS09 Fashion Show and owned it — both clothes and the whole modeling thing. If I were to cast someone for PROMOD, to sell French fashion to the Philippine Market, I would most probably have chosen her. Apart from that touch of the Filipina look in her features and an over-all soft exotic beauty, she has that “je ne se quoi” quality about her and it reflects in her …

For folks who helped me make up my mind via Plurk, here’s a look at the short and thin black number I ended up wearing. Yes, it’s short enough since it rides up a good 6 inches above the knee and thin enough to tempt you not to wear anything underneath for fear of knicker lines ruining it. Thoughts?
I was facing back-to-back events that night and just thinking about it was already stressful. I wasn’t particularly looking forward to dressing up and putting makeup on. I knew I’ll be …
