MAC Mineralize SkinFinish Natural in Medium

This was actually my first stop during that fated Tuesday shopping spree (see Shoe binge post). I’ve been putting my trip to a MAC counter for so long that when I did find myself in Glorietta, I just knew I’m not going to deny my need any longer.
I was in the market for a face powder and I’m curious if MAC had anything good for me to try. Of course, I know that MAC is a trusted cosmetics brand but the question on whether it will suit me (in terms …

Work Wear: In T-Shirt and Jeans

A few posts ago, when I mentioned that the office dress code (where I work) is quite accommodating, what I actually meant was that I can actually come in a simple t-shirt and jeans combo.
For the sake of argument, this particular outfit is not your typical t-shirt and jeans look — note that I even took on a Levi’s white and blue colour palette, which was popularized by that old TVC — but, technically, it simply is what it is (a t-shirt and jeans outfit). IMHO, it’s all a matter …

Webcam Fun (An FOTD)

It’s a sick day (been sick since Saturday afternoon) but it’s not going to stop me from having a bit of fun. While leaving Jerry Maguire on telly, I tinkered with Skype — taking snapshots via the webcam.

Found it a bit disconcerting to be using a webcam to take a photo, a first for me. Hehe

I should be resting this fever out instead of doing silly things but hey sure was fun! LOL

Most decent out of the lot. Hopefully, you folks can see the makeup.
I had grown a bit …

Mineral Makeup Pick: The Body Shop Nature’s Minerals Foundation

Makeup came gradually in my life. I came from being a little tomboy that scoffs at the idea of such a fussy, “girl-y” routine to a lady that sees its morale boosting potential; from detesting occasions when my mum would have an MUA do my makeup to never needing one anymore; from being a clueless shopper to an experimental one. It’s been a beautiful journey of discovery.
Initial thoughts as a newbie, I really didn’t see myself benefiting from using a foundation makeup. I had thought you only need it if …

Beauty Review: MAC Mineralize Blush Duo in Grand Duo and Lipstick in Bombshell

One of my favourite looks for the past couple of months includes this makeup pairing — MAC Mineralize Blush Duo in Grand Duo and Frost Lipstick in Bombshell. I reckon you may remember these babies from my M & M Shopping last April. Now, it’s time to document my thoughts on them. I know it’s not enough that I’d simply tell you folks that I love them, yes?

Primer: “Curiously, I don’t really wear pink lipstick but when I tried this one on, I couldn’t believe that it actually looked …

Gifted with MAC, Leo Salinas and an FOTD

The notice for a package from Canada arrived in my mailbox early this week. A smile had slowly turned into a wide grin. They’re here?! A girl couldn’t be happier. A packet filled with MAC makeup gifted by Marion from Canada was ready for pick-up. Darn shame that you’re only allowed to pick packages up on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays. I only definitely have the car on Wednesdays! Gah.
Well, I did have the option to ask my brother to leave the car yesterday since I was scheduled to go …

Sunday, Another Errand Day

It’s all part of growing up. Responsibilities multiply and would either nag you into irritation or push you to be a better person. No matter how much stomping you do, they simply won’t go away. Best to accept and deal with them accordingly. Our portions are as it should be. It’s all a matter of patience and good time management.
Waking up at 3am wasn’t part of the plan and had laboured to go back to sleep but was unsuccessful. I dragged my arse off my bed and decided to …

Anika Makes Her Debut on Style Manila

For folks who aren’t aware of the existence of an Anika in my life, here’s a perfect opportunity for you to find out who she is (and what she looks like). She only 10 months and some weeks old but she already weighs more than I can carry. Gah. She has apparently taken on my playful personality (or perhaps it’s just her nature) and she seemingly loves going out of the house (pretty much like me, heh). If only photos can capture her boundless energy and insatiable excitement with, er, …

A Girls’ Day Out

I know Sunday was Father’s Day but twas decidedly spent with my gurlfriend, Penny. Reason was that Dads ought to spend the day with the kids to celebrate the special day, so the girls now have time to play! Heehee.
We actually had a few things needed done that day — something I’d like to call beauty errands, hehe — have our eyebrows threaded and buy a few beauty stuff, all part of prepping for the wedding (she’s part of the entourage and I’ll be their hair and makeup artist AND …

The Thin and Short of It

For folks who helped me make up my mind via Plurk, here’s a look at the short and thin black number I ended up wearing. Yes, it’s short enough since it rides up a good 6 inches above the knee and thin enough to tempt you not to wear anything underneath for fear of knicker lines ruining it. Thoughts?
I was facing back-to-back events that night and just thinking about it was already stressful. I wasn’t particularly looking forward to dressing up and putting makeup on. I knew I’ll be …
