For an upcoming series, I’m looking into getting in touch with local Indie fashion designers.
Are you one of them?
If you design and make clothes, bags, accessories or anything relating to fashion and style, then, yes, you’re one of them. Stating the obvious, Indie is short for independent. It means you’re mostly operating “under the radar” and only have viral marketing to your advantage. You may or may not have established a brand but still manage to put up shop virtually or physically so the rest of us can enjoy your …

The creations of Patrick Galang were showcased during Day 2 of the 2008 Philippine Fashion Week the New Generation Collection last Tuesday, 27 May 2008.
I found this video clip of a portion of his show on YouTube. Its quality isn’t so great but I guess it’s a way for us to see what went on, yea? Better than nothing, I’d reckon. Still working on getting permission to publish some photos, hopefully that pushes through so that you guys will be able to see them properly.

The creations of Anna Leah Salvador were showcased during Day 2 of the 2008 Philippine Fashion Week the New Generation Collection last Tuesday, 27 May 2008.
A very black and white set. Lots of LBD ideas. There were a couple of repeats, though. That’s a no-no in doing a show. I wish they kept the top hat on all the models, seemingly like the signature look. Love that bit.

I’ve finally gotten around to uploading the last batch of the photos I took during the Opening Ceremony of the 2008 Philippine Fashion Week. Tis a tedious task, I tell ‘ya. Juggling between processing photos and writing them posts. And then there is seeing fabulous photos of the fashion show taken by other local photographers like Ian Ong of ClicktheCity.com. Gawd. I almost didn’t want to upload mine. LOL.
But I know you guys would want to see what we saw that night, yea? Twas models strutting down the catwalk, wearing …

Courtesy of Artistry, my Tuesday night turned out to be interesting and entertaining. I attended the Opening Ceremony of the Philippine Fashion Week 2008 held at Hall 3 of SMX Convention Center.
Artistry is the official makeup of this year’s Philippine Fashion Week.
The night also celebrated PFW’s 11th year, hence the title of the night’s show, “GLIMPSES: A Dawn of a New Decade”. The Philippine fashion scene has been working on building a more global image, hoping to launch the distinct Filipino creativity to the rest of the world. A call …

Watched the movie, Jumper, which stars Hayden Christensen, Samuel L. Jackson and Rachel Bilson last night at Alabang Town Center. Yea, twasn’t exactly an ideal romantic post-Valentine movie date but it’s the company that counts, right? Besides, the movie wasn’t that bad.
Anyway, I also found out that when the movie premiered in New York, Rachel Bilson was spotted wearing this fab gold dress made by no other than our very own Monique Lhuillier. How cool is that? Twas even reported that Bilson bought it straight off the runway.

I was truly impressed with her talent! Having been in the craft of jewelry-making for over five years — self-taught no less — gives her enough time to test, stretch and perfect her skill, nay, talent! I’m really surprised that she’s only 23 years old!
Pia Faustino invests her time and effort to fulfilling a client’s wish. And as far as I’ve seen, from the product photos, the jewelry are exquisitely done with form, design and materials in mind. Pia works mostly with wires, incorporating different global influences that her wandering …
