As children, our first venture into exploring creativity is holding onto that first box of crayons and a stack of papers our parents may have let us have. Moving onto the first day in primary, we’d always have an activity to experiment with colours then shifted to using different mediums as we move up each level. Big crayons, small crayons, coloured chalks, colour pencils, water colour and the list goes on.
And then there was structure. From tree trunks in brown, grass in green, skies in blue, flowers in red and …

This was actually my first stop during that fated Tuesday shopping spree (see Shoe binge post). I’ve been putting my trip to a MAC counter for so long that when I did find myself in Glorietta, I just knew I’m not going to deny my need any longer.
I was in the market for a face powder and I’m curious if MAC had anything good for me to try. Of course, I know that MAC is a trusted cosmetics brand but the question on whether it will suit me (in terms …

A few posts ago, when I mentioned that the office dress code (where I work) is quite accommodating, what I actually meant was that I can actually come in a simple t-shirt and jeans combo.
For the sake of argument, this particular outfit is not your typical t-shirt and jeans look — note that I even took on a Levi’s white and blue colour palette, which was popularized by that old TVC — but, technically, it simply is what it is (a t-shirt and jeans outfit). IMHO, it’s all a matter …

It’s a sick day (been sick since Saturday afternoon) but it’s not going to stop me from having a bit of fun. While leaving Jerry Maguire on telly, I tinkered with Skype — taking snapshots via the webcam.
Found it a bit disconcerting to be using a webcam to take a photo, a first for me. Hehe
I should be resting this fever out instead of doing silly things but hey sure was fun! LOL
Most decent out of the lot. Hopefully, you folks can see the makeup.
I had grown a bit …

For folks who helped me make up my mind via Plurk, here’s a look at the short and thin black number I ended up wearing. Yes, it’s short enough since it rides up a good 6 inches above the knee and thin enough to tempt you not to wear anything underneath for fear of knicker lines ruining it. Thoughts?
I was facing back-to-back events that night and just thinking about it was already stressful. I wasn’t particularly looking forward to dressing up and putting makeup on. I knew I’ll be …

Yes, howdy folks! LOL.
One of the things I remember about my visits to Baguio when I was little was going horseback riding in Wright Park so can you guess what this particular tourist did? Er, duh. I went horseback riding!
Growing up, I’ve had this fascination with horses and had dreams of owning one (out of my budget, of course). And the last time I was on a horse, I reckon I was around 8 years old. So when I found myself in Wright Park, I just couldn’t let the …

Ever heard of the saying, “Always the bridesmaid, never the bride” before? Well, that’s me. Not that I’m complaining. LOL. But yea, I played bridesmaid over the weekend to my dear, dear friend’s wedding. A very special and poignant ceremony held somewhere in the metro.
In the bridesmaid roster, I was joined by my other close friends.

I don’t know about you folks but I certainly found the fact that I know how to do makeup on occasions such as this one, very, very useful. …

Me? On TV? Seriously.
Not that I minded the major plugging for my blogs (SashaManuel.com, The Parody, and Tops II Bottoms) and mainly for Style Manila, so, yea I grabbed the opportunity. This is one of the interviews I did with QTV. Shot entirely in my home whilst by principle I didn’t really want to do. But yea, there. You folks can see how my room looks like and the family den where I usually work.
Aired last night — Thursday, 16 April 2009 — on GMA Network’s QTV 11 new …

Today’s a sick day but I’m well enough to spend some time updating Style Manila. However, before I go on with the more serious fashion-slash-beauty posts, I thought it’d be cool to share another weekend (one before last) that I had with friends and family.
It started out with a Hens Party held at Manila Peninsula, Makati City that I organised for a friend who’s scheduled to tie the knot a week and some days from today. Still can’t believe that she’s saying goodbye to the single life but, hey, I’m …

Last Saturday was esp reserved for a group of friends I haven’t had the chance to hang out with for years. Gawd, I miss these people. I don’t know why it took us a long time to schedule a get together. We all even failed to keep in touch for different (and forgotten!) reasons, probably thinking that being connected online is sufficient enough.
From our Burgoo dinner and coffee at Starbucks in Rockwell, we headed off to hangout at a friend’s house nearby. There we spent more time reminiscing. Stories filled …
