9 for 2009: Fashion Forecast for Manila

As the year 2008 draws to a close, I reckoned that instead of doing a trend round up, I’d rather highlight the ones we can keep an eye on come 2009. This year has been a whirlwind of trend after trend and I’ve noticed that most of the fashionistas were well aware and in tuned with them all. it has been a fun year in fashion, wouldn’t you agree?
Though some may have grown tired of keeping up with them trends, we just can’t help learning of new ones and …

Went to Subic over the weekend. Spent the night at Sunset Cove with teh boyfriend and rest of the USAP people. Twas their company outing. Yea, I tagged along. I grabbed the opportunity to do a bit of shooting so here’s another photographer outfit but now it’s on a beach setting. Hehe. I reckon one should adapt, yea? LOL.

Press Release
Experience Summer All Year Round with Havaianas
March April triggers a series of inevitable actions:
Beach-reads fly off bookshelves; shorts and tank tops tumble out of closets; patio umbrellas are unfurled; rooftop parties commence. And just as surely, the pitter-patter of flip-flops on the sand overlaps with the buzz of possible explorations under sunny, soon to be summery skies.
In the Philippines, the choices for summer escapes are rich indeed. There’s a lot to be explored in a country made up of 7,107 islands, where the breeze is balmy throughout the year. …

When I mentioned, “what I didn’t really like is that the shape of the flip-flops isn’t friendly for them who have wide feet”, on my last post, I wasn’t aware of the Havaianas WAVE line. These babies are meant for them guys with wide feet. Definitely.
I like how these flip-flops (but they look more like rubber sandals now) look. They’re very casual and look very sturdy. I like the light grey and navy blue colour combination. Makes it look clean and beach-ready. I love the straps.

You may be wondering why …

I bought these pairs the other day over at all flip-flops in Bonifacio High Street. Naturally, they’re gifts for my younger brother, who celebrated his birthday and for teh boyfriend.
From what I observed, Havaianas have developed a good system for sizes, covering two sizes in a pair. To further illustrate, sizing is in 10-11 or 7-8 and such. This makes it easier for someone like me who’s buying it as a gift. It leaves room for error esp since I’m not certain whether if it will fit the recipient. …

Not that it really matters. I was just curious as to where you guys buy your pairs of Havaianas. I found it amusing that there is a shop that sells just flip-flops like the store all flip-flops, and they only sell the said brand. I have to admit that I’m still quite baffled as to why Havaianas are such a craze here in Manila. Yes, I’ve heard hundreds of testimonies to its comfort and style, but I still see them as pairs of rubber slippers priced outrageously high. Oh, …

I want a pair of Crocs™ Capri Sandals!
I do!
I had wanted it for my trip to Punta Fuego.
I had wanted it for my trip to Bohol (and Cebu!).
And I had wanted it for my backpacking trip up North with the Kiko Karavan, er, well a portion of the way, I mean.
It’s the kind of footwear made for these kind of travels! It’s light and comfortable to wear, perfect for long walks or uneven surfaces. It would’ve helped care for my poor little feet. Sniff.
Yea, I did not own …

I just came back a few days ago from an interesting backpacking trip of sorts. Hehe. Of course, I came home with a dozen or so photos from the bikini photo shoots we always do when we travel and stay near the water.
Anyway, the bikini I wore for this set is my new Fartattu Agua Bikini, which I bought during last month’s shopping binge. It’s one of the things I bought when I was in Rustan’s in Alabang Town Center. I got for Php 1,995.00. Who would’ve thought …

Imagine my delight when I clicked on the link forwarded by a contact, which I received upon logging onto the internet this evening. I’m astounded by the beauty of these bikinis! Gawd. Who would’ve thought that there’s SOAK swimwear in existence? I’m sure glad to be one of the lucky ones to find out.
I quickly browsed through the Beach Couture 2007 collection on the site and I immediately was drawn to the Gold & Silver twisted bandeau with tie side straps bottom. Okay. I admit. I’ve recently bought a pair …

I was in Bonifacio High Street yesterday afternoon specifically heading towards the Crocs™ shop. I wasn’t the one who did the shopping for a pair, it was Rico. It all started when I saw him try on a pair when we were in Rustan’s, buying me a bikini, the other day, unfortunately, ones in his size were out of stock, hence, the trip to BHS store.
It was meant to be! He’s now a happy owner of a Crocs™ Scutes Sandals, priced at Php 1,850.00.

I had no plans of buying one …
