Tog du jour: Colours and Cut-offs

Wishing I can say it’s inspired by the current season but I have to admit that this is a typical everyday outfit for me. Yes, a cut-off has become a staple and I would simply rotate my shirts, camis or some breezy top. What I can say is that today, Easter Sunday, I felt like wearing something colourful. It was a simple, hassle-free, happy look. I guess I needed a bit of colour to un-dampen the mood I’m in over the last few weeks. I’m wishing that I’ll be able …

Weekend at The Pen, Part 1 | Let’s talk clutches and purses

It’s Friday Night. You quickly took a last glance at the mirror, checked to see if your lipstick’s still in place. Waiting at the other side of the door are your girls and the rest of the night. You know not to leave your purse, which holds all the night’s essentials. You step into the night ready to embrace what stoke you’d get from hanging out with your favourite people and Jack.
Have you ever really given it a second thought? I mean, do you know what makes a bag THE …

Style Sighting | Russ Davis

[Post by Eena Acuña]
I can’t seem to stress enough how much I appreciate guys who can carry the simplest clothes in an elegant but still laid back way. I have never seen anyone wear this kind of Pumas before nor is this the easiest style to carry. Then I realized that every time I bump into Russ, there was always something about his shoes that made sense, like, he was really meant to wear them. Balancing between blues and greys, at the end of the day, its all about the …

Little America x My Ideal Heart’s Day Date

Grab every opportunity to enjoy nature, rain or shine. Savor the coolness that a damp early afternoon drizzle would bring. Throw away inhibitions and just be. Time spent immersed in literature and long walks. Writings of love read or written, basking in the love that a single day magnifies. A day of hearts with that one man who has the ability to show you that everything which makes life wonderfully amazing is all around you — is in you.

Herschel Philippines just concluded their Valentine promo wherein they were giving …

Wedge Driven: The Go To Shoe

[Post by Eena Acuña]
Scenario: Walking around the mall, you enter a shop and see something you like. While waiting for the clerk to hand you the size you requested, you check if you’ve got enough money to buy it. Check. The clerk arrives and tells you with no sympathy whatsoever: “Sorry, your size is out of stock.” All too familiar? I’ll have to admit that shoe shopping for a US Sized 9 that is me can be frustrating sometimes. Hence the saying, “If it’s available in your size, grab it.”

Which brings …

First and Forever: Dr. Martens

[Post by Eena Acuña]
Black patent 8-hole boots with rainbow stitching, often with rainbow laces if I felt extra playful. This was my first pair of Dr. Martens back in grade school and I wish I cared enough back then to keep them even just for display. Aside from a few shops back then in Alabang and Makati, there weren’t any legitimate stores around Manila that carried the famous brand that has evolved from being known for the original worker boot, to the punked out iconic cherry reds, and now on …

Meet Eena

Indelible youth. There’s value to be had in this. Fashion seen through a youthful pair of eyes will bring fresh perspective to it, mirthfully disregarding the structured definition that the exacting public sometimes decree. Who wouldn’t appreciate an unencumbered approach to style? Expressing oneself as actively and resolute as a kid filled with wonder and curiosity, can lead to a more creative flair that’s both fascinating and enigmatic. A young mind that’s eager to challenge limits, explore locales, and walk barefoot just because.
Meet Eena.

Unang Hirit for December

There are things in life that’s difficult to explain. Opportunities come a-knockin’ in times when you least expect it and I’ve observed that that’s how things have been for the past few weeks. “Go with it!” As most of my good friends would tell me and I reckon it is much too fun not to. Of course, having a plan will always ensure a less stressful life but savouring tiny surprises will keep me on my toes and will add the necessary kick to the usual humdrum. Today is a …

Style in a Suitcase

The dilemma I face whenever I travel is carrying on with my personal style (in fashion and beauty terms) and luggage space. There are certain things that one must give up esp if location and activities are to be taken into consideration. I ask questions like: “Would wearing stilletos be suitable for my trip to [insert name of place]?” Or, “Will I have enough prep time each day to accommodate a certain style of makeup?” Or even, “How many pairs of shoes can my bag accommodate?” These questions help me …
