Off to Work in Flats

By tradition, Mondays mean a work outfit that leans toward the more formal business or corporate attire (at least from experience). It’s probably due to all the meetings and such which are usually held on this work day. But there are three (3) reasons why I opted to wear flats with a dress on a Monday.

Reason 1. Current weather.
I didn’t want to get caught in a work attire which can be troublesome in case of a downpour. It’s actually a stretch that I wore a dress.
Reason 2. Giving my feet …

Work Wear: Black and Green

If you missed the announcement, let me take this opportunity to mention it again (esp if you’re starting to wonder on the lack of posts) I’ve officially entered the rat race again — after more than a couple of years of sabbatical, mind you. The past few weeks have been a toss among several hats that I’m close to vetoing my latest career decision. Gah.
With all the adjustments I’m doing, I’m suffering from sleep deprivation and bad skin days (yech), throw in hair blah moments cuz I simply can’t …

Hair Pampered: Essensity Hydrating Treatment Plus A Trim

There has been a major change of pace in my life and the past week had been spent accommodating new things and people, adjusting to a new environment and re-incorporating myself into a world that I’ve left behind a good couple of years ago. Back in the grind, odd emotions, all good but like with every highly charged occurrence, I’m often in need of something to help me relax.
Scheduling a salon day with a new friend on the first day of a long weekend was a mighty good idea. So …

At the Look of Style Event, Amina Aranaz-Alunan

Also in the spotlight during the Look of Style photo exhibit launch was bag designer and School of Fashion and the Arts (SoFA) founder Amina Aranaz-Alunan.

The Glamour Girl style of Amina was captured in the photo — styled in a cream embellished cocktail dress from Amir Sali, silver multi-strap shoes from YSL and a diamond drop earrings re-worked by Jul B. Dizon — showcased in the exhibit. And the outfit she wore to the event (as seen on the photo) is a definite eye-catcher as well. Amina admits that she …

At the Look of Style Event, Tessa Prieto-Valdes

One of the individuals chosen to be part of The Look of Style Photo Exhibit is Lifestyle columnist, host of “House Life” on QTV and co-owner of Urban Spa, Tessa Prieto-Valdes.

Her personal style is labeled as Outrageously unique and I dare say that her fashion is well-known for it’s show-stopping attribute, tells us she’s got spunk and was quite clear when she showed up with that vintage head piece and adorned with a pair of falsies that you’d think would only grace beauty editorials and not worn in real life. …

The Look of Style Event in Photos

The message is clear. Pushing people to trust more in themselves than what the society dictates, in this case, in terms of their personal style. Highlighting individuals who strive to stay true to who they are and their passions in life will thus be reflected in how they dress, the fashion event has put forth the ideal that in determining one’s identity, results will permeate in one’s lifestyle and fashion.
Like I mentioned in a previous post, I attended Look Magazine’s photo exhibit launch, The Look of Style — one of …

In a Cotton and Angora PROMOD Dress

Don’t you find it odd, sometimes, that you would go through a lot of things in prepping for a single event which will only last a good couple of hours or so? Energy and time spent picking out the perfect outfit, bag and accessories then planning on how you’re going to do your hair and makeup. Wasted time? Depends on the person really. And, at least, it was fun.
I wanted to wear something special to one of the events from the Inquirer Lifestyle + Nokia Lifestyle Series, The Look of …

Plaid Trend Goes Mainstream

It’s been talked about at the end of the last quarter of 2008 and as expected the Plaid trend had gained a lot of traction beginning of 2009 and over the course of the past months have entered the mainstream. The fashionable public had took it on like how a dog is with a bone.
While I was killing time and waiting for the rain to subside at Starbucks in Santana Grove over the weekend, I spotted a couple of MMA (Multimedia Arts) students from DLSU-CSB at a nearby table sporting …

Style Manila in Manila Bulletin

It’s always a reason to celebrate when folks take time to go out of their way to get in touch with you in the effort to get to know you (in this case, my blog Style Manila) and let other people know about what they’ve learned. One should always be grateful for the good things people can say about you and all the hard work you’ve put in a certain endeavour.
Today, I learned that Style Manila was featured in Manila Bulletin, an email interview request sent by Ajay for …

What’s Your Winning Moment?

Yesterday, the streets of Manila were drenched with both rain and cars. EDSA was a bit impossible but it didn’t stop me from hauling my arse to Robinsons Galleria for an event. It promises great fastfood so what the hell, yea? Check out my plate of Greenwich’s Lasagna Supreme.

I’m not a particular fan of the dish. I’m more of a baked macaroni person. Lasagna reminds me of lunch options in highschool (go Bene!) to which ERV’s lasagna didn’t impress my relatively young and inexperienced taste buds (sorry ERV folks. Loved …
