2010 is starting out to be one heck of a busy year. I meant to do this last December but I had no time to organise it, not to mention, no time to see it through. What am I talking about? Well, I wanted to give away some stuff to celebrate Christmas, my birthday and Style Manila’s 3rd year anniversary. Yes, this blog turned 3 early this month!
So what exactly am I giving away? Let’s start with a few beauty loot bags which will contain the following:
Loot #1
AVON’s Jet Femme …

Although customary, a feature would’ve been in line after the dress is finished and not while it’s still in the creation process. However, in my excitement with how things turning out, let me give you folks a quick look at the dress I had let Kaye Olfindo design for me.
I love having clothes esp made for me. I probably got this from my mum who, as I was growing up, would have most of her clothes made by a local modista or seamstress/dressmaker. Of course, I got a taste of …

For the past week, I’ve been throwing some teasers to friends and online contacts about being in a local guy mag.
When I mentioned that I’m in its October 2009 issue, the statement definitely raised some eyebrows and garnered surprised looks on each of their faces. Rightly so cuz if you’ve seen me even just in photos, I certainly don’t have the make which would qualify to be on even a quarter of a page. But just to make things clear, there were no semi-nekkid photos in this feature. Fortunately. …

There has been a major change of pace in my life and the past week had been spent accommodating new things and people, adjusting to a new environment and re-incorporating myself into a world that I’ve left behind a good couple of years ago. Back in the grind, odd emotions, all good but like with every highly charged occurrence, I’m often in need of something to help me relax.
Scheduling a salon day with a new friend on the first day of a long weekend was a mighty good idea. So …

Last month, I was at the Ateneo GSB for a speaking engagement, a Publishing seminar organised by JCI Makati, and I found myself talking to a fellow speaker, Circuit Mag publisher and EIC JR Isaac, who had mentioned in passing how someone chooses his or her mobile phone show preferences which best epitomises his or her own lifestyle. Something I’ve briefly touched on years back when I did a poll on favourite accessories over at Tops II Bottoms, learning that a lot of individuals do consider mobile phones as a …

I’ve had my heart set on getting a hair cut since the last time I paid a salon a visit. Though at that time I was looking into getting a different cut, I had resolved to just keeping things simple and just got a trim, to do away with possible dry ends. I reckon it’s advisable to schedule regular hair trimming sessions, on top of other hair treatments, with your hair dresser as part of your hair regimen.
This brings us to a recent trip to one specific salon up North, …

*Humming the song while working on the post.*
For folks who are not familiar with the song, it’s one of the country’s local tagalog folk songs (also sung while playing a traditional game with the same name). And the reason why I sing hum is because I spent a day in a farm and I’m here to tell you a lil about my experience in photos.
Though I love the hustle and bustle of the city life, I can appreciate the simple, refreshing environment that can best be found in rural settings. …

For folks who aren’t aware of the existence of an Anika in my life, here’s a perfect opportunity for you to find out who she is (and what she looks like). She only 10 months and some weeks old but she already weighs more than I can carry. Gah. She has apparently taken on my playful personality (or perhaps it’s just her nature) and she seemingly loves going out of the house (pretty much like me, heh). If only photos can capture her boundless energy and insatiable excitement with, er, …

UPDATE: Read Eastwood Ultra 7 Cinema, Persona Non Grata
As a voracious reader, I’d often like to take time off from my books to enjoy a movie or two. I’d normally hit the cinemas in Alabang Town Center for convenience or if I consider the movie deserves special attention, I’d opt for the Greenbelt 3 cinemas in Makati. You’d hardly catch me watching any place else.
Personally, I wouldn’t really trek as far as Eastwood just to watch a movie. I live down South for crying out loud! And my work …

We interrupt the style sighting posts (yes, there are more posts to come!) to announce: “I Love Green!” Er, that sounds a tad bit silly and unnecessary but bear with me for a few minutes.
Northwest flight 71 touched Manila soil roughly around half past 10 in the evening last Sunday. A very, very wet night and the traffic going to the arrival area was heinous. I wonder if these people weren’t aware that there are two ways to enter the airport; why choose the flyover? Anyway, after a lil over …
