Style Manila on its 3rd Year

2010 is starting out to be one heck of a busy year. I meant to do this last December but I had no time to organise it, not to mention, no time to see it through. What am I talking about? Well, I wanted to give away some stuff to celebrate Christmas, my birthday and Style Manila’s 3rd year anniversary. Yes, this blog turned 3 early this month!

So what exactly am I giving away? Let’s start with a few beauty loot bags which will contain the following:
Loot #1
AVON’s Jet Femme …

Ripped for 2010

Let’s start off the new year with a post. I’m resolved to spending more time here than I did last month. Twas regrettably the busiest month I’ve had in a while. It’s filled with all the shopping that a month can give me since it was my birthday month plus all the holiday gift giving.
Boxing day (day after Christmas for those of you who aren’t familiar with it) marked the last shopping trip for the year 2009. One of my stops in Trinoma (took my mum — her first time …

Bangles and Chains

December has always been the busiest month for me. I know it’s been a good couple of weeks since you folks heard from me but I’m now back with a few updates.
If you’ve been keeping tabs via Style Manila’s twitter (plus the PILL post), you know that I’ve been to the Bazaar held at the St. James the Great in Ayala Alabang a few weeks ago. Naturally, I did a bit of shopping and one of the things on the agenda was a major accessory haulage. I needed to …

In My Birthday Suit

Although customary, a feature would’ve been in line after the dress is finished and not while it’s still in the creation process. However, in my excitement with how things turning out, let me give you folks a quick look at the dress I had let Kaye Olfindo design for me.
I love having clothes esp made for me. I probably got this from my mum who, as I was growing up, would have most of her clothes made by a local modista or seamstress/dressmaker. Of course, I got a taste of …

Kaye Olfindo Holiday 2009 Collection

Early this month, news reached me that Kaye Olfindo had released her Holiday 2009 Collection with four (4) distinct dress designs perfect for the ladies who love playing dress up. I reckon this bit is perfect news for us with parties and formals to either throw or attend.
Wouldn’t it be great to wear something that’s made esp for you?
Meet the dresses:

VIDA (Php 2,500) Bamboo cotton dress with beaded neckline.

LAILA (Php 2,500) Poly-acetate dress with removable belt and brooch.

TAMAR (Php 3,500). Satin and leatherette dress with detachable belt.

LUNA …

The Case of the Shoe Binge

Twas a Tuesday. A bad day. For the first time in my life I actually took myself to see a doctor. I’m not too keen on the matter. It’s probably due to this thing of having been hospitalised for almost two (2) months when I was 7, countless trips for check ups, medical exams and visits and then, on top of that, a semi-recent experience which involved the ICU (no, I wasn’t the one who got admitted but someone real close). So, there. Need I say more?
Going back to my …

Dissecting the Ultimate Designer Wardrobe

As promised in a previous post, we’re here to talk about the Designer Wardrobe which can be won in NESTLÉ FITNESSE’s Show off Your Shape promo.
I have to admit I had stared longingly at the pieces that form the Ultimate Wardrobe. In case you missed it, the wardrobe includes following pieces from local fashion designers and global designer brands: Rhett Eala, Religioso, Michi Calica, Kate Torralba, Jun Escario, Hermes, Chanel, and 7 for All Mankind. Personal favourites are the dresses from Kate Torralba and Chanel. Whoever wins this set should …

The Ramp’s Top 10 Holiday 2009 Trends

Torn between sharing this bit of news cuz I really wouldn’t want to be the cause of depleted Holiday bonuses plus the fact that pay day’s coming up. However, how can I not tell you ladies about this?
It’s a brief report on the Holiday 2009 Trends from The Ramp and here’s their list narrowed down to 10 with Teresa Herrera working it to jump start style ideas —

Embellishments
Always. At least, that’s what I believe. Makes an outfit more interesting, creates that personal touch on style, spices up an otherwise boring …

Cord Trousers and a Tunic Plus Something Extra

As mentioned in my previous post, I’m here to report my latest purchases from Promod. After the fastest recorded time I’ve ever shopped (under an hour!) to date, I’ve managed to bag two (2) pieces plus a little something extra from one store and don’t forget that I did shop at Warehouse right before that.
One is a Cropped Cord Trouser.

Aside from the cord material, I’m loving the little details that make up the entire thing. From pockets, front and back, to belt catchers. It also has the casual turn …

It’s How You WARE It

Move over Topshop. A new favourite’s in town. Situated in one of the newest malls (Greenbelt 5!) to hit the urban jungle of Makati is a gem of a fashion store called Warehouse. Have you folks checked it out? Well, I did. Last night — between Bebo and a Facebook Page also after finishing a Jamaican Cheesy Beef Patty in a mad-rush — I stepped through its doors the second time in a work week but like what they always say, second time’s a charm. I didn’t leave the store …
