After filial responsibilities for a nation’s tradition to spend time and celebrate Todos los Santos at the cemetery, I dashed off to mark the holiday in a more Western way by 12:01.
Halloween party at Black Market.
Backtracking to 2 days ago, “Costumes K!” — a friend’s text message. I was, like, WHUT. How was I going to get that done? But yea, I had to be resourceful given that I had no time to plan a costume. I had to make do with this (no, ’twasn’t like I’d copped out or anything — I didn’t exactly have a set of awesome costume sitting in my wardrobe, haha)
Hat a shop on Bridge Road, Melbourne (circa 2005)
Boots (not in photo) Aldo
Necklace Sportsgirl, Lee Hwa Jewellery
Earrings Fever by Hotline
Ear cuff Sportsgirl
Funny thing was I would’ve copped out if I had chosen the other route, which would’ve been simply wearing a horned headband so I reckon I had put myself out there (well, a wee bit) along with other folks at the party. Folks with way, WAY more awesome costumes on, I should add. Seriously? It was my first time to do the whole Halloween party thing and I’m VERY impressed with all the costumes I saw last night! They made my night, haha.
It wasn’t planned but I’m happy to realise that the ladies of Style Manila were together last night. Thanks for inviting me, skull sisters Hannah and Eena. And it was awesome to see you again, Sab! You looked gorgeous last night!
Ah, yes. Word of advice, if you’re at a party, in a club — DANCE more, take Selfies less. Haha /wink
How did you spend Todos los Santos / Halloween (whichever applies)?
P.S. Much thanks for taking the photos, Hannah! Helps me to remember what I might have forgotten, hahaha.
