Not that I’d want you folks to take that seriously but, yea, outlook for the clutch for 2013 seems good, seeing that I’ve already managed to acquire quite a few of them and January isn’t even over.
Let’s see — I already told you about the Faux Croc Clutch I bought soon after arriving in Australia, around early December. Over the holidays, a couple more were gifted. Must be that my family knows what to give me. That or hints weren’t subtle enough as I initially thought, haha. And, quite recently, I bought a couple more.
My friends know that — though I’m not a bag person — when it comes to clutches and purses, they’re “so me” so to speak. I’m building a humble collection, with clutches and purses
numbering in the hundreds in an ample number that satisfies my style (and practical) needs. The last clutch buy that became an instant favourite was a Julian Louie for Aldo clutch. (Quick note: this reminded me that I never did finish blogging about that weekend, haha.)
Let me share the ones gifted. First up was a birthday gift from my mum — a faux snake skin clutch.
I really don’t believe in coincidences so I reckon this can be a symbolic piece for 2013. Any guesses why? Oh, alright. I’ll just come out and say it — it’s the year of the snake. It’s my year, haha. It actually gave me an idea to play around with snake skin. We’ll just have to wait and see how that project will turn out. Er, stay tuned? (mygad, da pressure lulz)
Clutch brand: Ruby & Kit
Now, should I really say anything else about the next one? Yea, Christmas gift from the big sis. Funny story behind this one is I was there when she bought it since I actually asked her to gift it to me, haha. I do love envelope clutches. They’re a combination of preppy and downtown. I particularly love the fact that this one has colour! I’m quite serious about pushing myself out of my style comfort zone. And I love getting new fashion accessories to experiment with.
Clutch brand: Portmans
Now, for the ones I bought. Both are from Cotton On.
Soft leather-like material called by a stuffy scientific name (polyurethane 100%) in a chic, delicate pale neutral (think Pink Champagne – Pantone 12-1107) which is really a cross-over sling but doubles as a clutch; just detach the gold chain and material strap. I do prefer clutches that give me the option to sling it. This bit is esp useful on night outs when you’d rather have your hands and arms free doing something else than simply taking care of a clutch (I pretty much don’t use shoulder bags when I go out, come to think of it).
Retailed for AUD$ 19.95 (roughly around Php 860.00).
Ah, the ever elusive box clutch. I’ve been wanting to get me one of these since that moment I laid eyes on a gorgeous H&M box clutch back in 2006. You’d think the search is over since this baby is adorable. I particularly like the faux snake skin texture and the colour. The COLOUR! But, yea, as way to say thanks to the big sis, I decided to share a bit of clutch love and gift it to her. She did tell me she wanted to have one like it, so, there ‘ya go.
Retailed for AUD$ 14.95 (roughly around Php 645.00).
I’ll just have to continue looking for my own box clutch. Dunno if I’ll find it here but would be interesting if I would.
Over 11 months left in the year — I wonder just how many clutches I’d end up having by the end of it. Eeep, haha. I’ll just focus on enjoying the ones I currently own for now. Do you like clutches?
Anyhoo, I know it’s rather late but here’s to wishing you a fabulous year ahead!
