Life is an exceptional playground in new shoes

So. New shoes. Adrenalin rush. Cartwheels and sprints. Huge grin and endless giggles. Heaven. Yea, I can be such a kid when I bring home a new pair of shoes. Such a girl, eh? Well, I am a girl and I looove shoes. <3

Got me a pair of Corelli boots over at Williams in Harbour Town.

And for a great price, too. Originally priced at AUD$ 79.99 (roughly around Php 3,500.00), I only got it for AUD$ 29.99 (roughly around Php 1,300.00). Good, eh? That was the plan. Find a good bargain for a pair. Success. I’m crossing that out from my list! Happy that I was able to find a pair that I can consider tough, casual and flat. It doesn’t hurt that it comes in this fab colour finish and texture. It’s not everyday that I’d get the chance to buy exactly what I wanted, the way I wanted.

Booted up one late afternoon for a quick trip to the doggie park for Blue and explore this awesome playground with the kiddos. Made me wish we had this sort of place while I was growing up, hence, my playing with more than just the swing this time ’round, haha.

Dizzy but laughing, I readily stepped back and simply watched my nephew and niece break personal spinning records, mimic a flying superhero(ine), bury their feet in the sand pit and do a gazillion cartwheels.

Grabbed the opportunity to document the boots’ first day out as well, haha.

Writing this post made me realise how colourful life can be while young or looked upon with a fresh eye. Activities involve a lot of fun, new things to discover and learn. Spending time in a playground reminded me that you create your own happiness. A swing on its own won’t make you happy; it’s what you do with it which will.

Choose which spot where you’d start playing and you can use it as is (and be done with it) or make a swing or a slide into something more by making it your own, conjure a story, come up with a twist in the play, consider the entire playground in the grand tale. Make it into your own Terabithia.

Curious thing, the effect an afternoon spent at a playground in a new pair of shoes can have on one’s perception.

P.S. I also just bought the cardi I’m wearing from Cotton On in Harbour Town, at a bargain no less! Original price was AUD$ 19.95 (roughly around Php 865.00) cut down to AUD$ 5.00 (roughly around Php 220.00), hehe. Don’t you just love bargain shopping?
