Situation was that I was simply counting down the days before I’m whisked off to another place once again. I was seated in my usual spot at a local Starbucks, sipping my usual venti iced soy latte — managing to fill up the sticker card for the planner gifted to my friend M — and writing down thoughts, diverting anecdotes and wondering about what sort of things this trip will bring me.

My mind had touched on several and oddly enough, I came up with something to amuse me as I considered indulging an old fetish: hats.

The new hat, Sunnies – Rayban, Top – Esprit
This is one type that I’ve been wanting to get but never gotten around to ’til the day I bought my ticket. Having deliberated that it’s a passing fancy, spending 150 pesos on a hat ain’t that bad. Rationale behind the accessory choice is for the pure fun of it. Besides, a hat seems to suit my present predicament: I choose Summer.

In transit, Changi Airport Singapore with my mum. Waiting to board the plane bound for Australia
The thing about this particular hat, I couldn’t pack it in my luggage else I risk ruining its shape. Which reminds me, one observation I want to note is this tiresome way some Filipinos can be draconian when it comes to seeing hats on women. It’s appalling how appalling it was to spot folks — in Singapore’s Changi Airport no less — who would respond with insolence to something that doesn’t fall under what they’d consider the norm. These women were traveling with a guy in bermuda shorts walking around with a man purse and they’re singling me out? Seriously, haha./rant
Moving on.

Now, here I am, over 5 days in and another key travel piece I brought with me is this camo jacket which I got from Zara a few months ago. I know it’s Summer in Australia but I also know that it still does get cold. And, true enough, temp’s been under 20s with nights that can be around 15degC since I landed. The wind bites. Rawr. Forecast promises warmer days starting tomorrow. But let’s move past all this talk of the weather, shall we? Ah, Oz. It’s my 5th trip and I’m still looking forward to new experiences. I’m certain there’ll be a surprise or two in store.

Let me just say hello from Australia (again — yea, was just here last year: first Oz post or check out all posts here: Australia which is roughly 6 pages) for now. I’ll do my best to share what I can, when I can. Hope y’all are doing well!
xo,

The beach looks great! Loving the hat too! Enjoy your holiday in Australia, Sasha!
Thanks, Alexa! Will do
I love Fedora hats, but I always have to leave mine behind when I travel. Your hat looks great with the Ray Ban’s
Happy and safe travels!
Interesting bit tho, I usually don’t travel with hats but the urge was too strong to ignore this time around. Thanks, Maria! Trip’s been awesome so far!
