As a self-confessed lippie addict, it would come as no surprise when I would experiment with a variety of lip makeup from different brands. All eyes on Laura Mercier and their selection of lip glosses which I thought would be a great gift idea for friends last Christmas. Of course, I ended up getting me a tube myself to play around with. But, if we talk about brow makeup, I’m not at all the adventurous type. Heck, I was even dubious that I’d be able to fill my brow in with out going Brooke Shields on it. Still insecure about my brow makeup skills — simply because I know so little on how to do it right. Didn’t stop me from trying to learn, tho.

Before I left for Yangon last April, I did a bit of makeup shopping which I failed to tell you folks about back then. Apart from the NARS pressed powder, I decided to grab a pot of brow makeup. I reckon the trip will be a good excuse to experiment. I was, after all, going on an extraordinary journey that introduced a certain high to my system. So, cowabunga on the brow department. Relatively.

Laura Mercier, Lip Glace in Quartz and Warm Brow Definer
Yesterday was such a day for experiments. Lippie combo involved the Laura Mercier Lip Glace in Quartz — an extremely rich dark brown hue that topped off the MAC lip pencil + MAC frost lipstick and changed the lip colour. Of course, I had to go about the ceremonial camwhoring to document it (but had too much fun with filters so these should have to do).

Laura Mercier, Lip Glace in Quartz
Darker IRL than it looks in the photo. Wearing it brought me back to Uni days and dark lipsticks — makes me want to buy lipsticks that are in something brown and burgundy hues. Hm. Ah, 90s.

Laura Mercier, Warm Brow Definer
Still trying to get the hang of it, evident in the photos wherein I clearly failed to fill my brows in as much as I should. But they look too dark and thick IRL! I don’t want to overdo it, eeep.
And, yea, I’ll get around to sharing a bit more about yesterday’s experiment — which touched on fashion this time — later on.

Any of you folks use Laura Mercier? Anything in particular you’d reco?

I don’t use brow makeup much as well but maybe I should. I just never thought it would make any difference. Anyway…nice photos!
I used to think that way but learned that they do make a difference. Try it and see. Thanks, Daphne!
I heard a friend mention a Laura Mercier eye shadow palette or something. I’ll ask her about it again. You look pretty in the photos by the way!
Oh, it would be awesome if you can let me know what your friend says. Thanks, Frances!
