Coachella (California, USA), Summer Sonic (Japan), Laneway (Singapore), Glastonbury and Reading & Leeds (The UK), Bonnaroo (Tennessee), Soundwave (Australia). These are just some of the biggest well known music festivals from around the globe that makes me want to pack my bags, leave everything behind, and just go.
But at the same time it also makes me wonder: why can’t something like this happen in Manila? Given our annual local music festivals such as Pulp Summerslam, Oktoberfest, and Fete dela Musique, Manila’s music scene is no doubt ripe and ready to be taken to greater heights.

Behind the organizers of the Malasimbo Art & Music Festival (Puerto Galera), Volume Unit Entertainment (VUE) in cooperation with Sofitel Philippine Plaza, Ticketworld, Department of Tourism, and Universal Zulu Nation present to you yet another historic event that will spark greater changes in our country’s music scene. Finally happening this 1st of May, 2012, the Manila Music Festival is a first festival of its scope and kind that will not only showcase the booming talents of our local music scene, but will be a venue for our local music lovers to appreciate sounds from abroad as well. All of this happening in one massive venue with about 5,000 people celebrating the love for music and the arts. If that doesn’t get your blood flowing, I don’t know what will.
The Venue:
Alphaland Bay City, Aseana Avenue, Paranaque
