Style Manila on Drinking Digital

12 February 2012 4,685 views No Comment

Call it serendipity, esp since it was totally an unplanned trip to Rockwell last Friday, that I had found myself doing a quick lippy re-touch (also silently hoping that my hair would behave itself) before settling on a couch and prepping myself for a video podcast. I actually find it ridiculously odd that I would find myself in situations wherein I have to be in front of a camera at a time when I’m no longer 100% comfortable with the idea. What can I say? I guess, the universe simply wants me to realise and accept that life is filled with adventures esp for those people who open themselves up to possibilities. But, yea, thanks to a routine SocMed habit of checking into Foursquare that updated my Twitter account (@angelisophia) and a friend (hi, Miguel!), I had found myself guesting in Drinking Digital, a Battle Axe Podcast Network production hosted by Ricky Baizas (@RickyBaizas).

Ricky is joined tonight by Sasha Manuel – Regional Director for Pinspire Philippines , Hans Chua – E-Learning Edge, Eena Acuña, – Contributor for Style Manila. The Superbowl was the week’s highlight in Digital News, aside from Facebook’s IPO filing. The discussion moves toward mobile communication and how it’s changed social behavior. (source)

Yes, folks. I do have a dayjob (so to speak) and I’m currently handling the Asian market for a social community website called Pinspire, such as sites dedicated to local Pinspire communities in Singapore, Australia, Japan, India (to name a few) which of course includes the Philippines, too.

Style Manila contributing blogger Eena Acuña was also there, too.

Ricky, a digital marketing executive at Nestlé Philippines, views his podcast, Drinking Digital, as “a way to evangelize digital in the country and a way to educate everyone about digital communications.” Well done! It’s always fantastic to meet someone who’s vision is to push digital (or the internet for most folks) as a good marketing platform here in our country.

So, if you’re the sort that enjoys engaging in discussions about blogging, social media, or how the online environment in the country is evolving, go have a listen! Marketing guru Ricky Baizas will talk about digital advertising, industry news, and what everyone’s talking about across SocMed platforms like Twitter and Facebook.

Drinking Digital airs every Friday, 7:30pm to 8:30pm and is downloadable as an audio or video podcast from the iTunes store.

Other podcasts under the Battle Axe Podcast Network are: Good Times with Mo: the Podcast, Tropical Banter, Good Times: Acoustic, Geek Chorus, and The Powder Room.

Again, big thanks to Ricky for having me and Eena guest in his podcast. It was fantastic meeting Hans of E-Learning Edge (@hansrc) And big thanks to Miguel for bridging the contact, too. Hopefully, I’d get to drop by again on your future episodes!
