Because my bestfriend loves shoes

20 May 2011 4,303 views 13 Comments

My bestfriend loves shoes. It explains why she keeps (well, sort of) a shoe blog called Imeldific. It’s her way of sharing this love with the rest of the online world. Sure, she can afford to splurge on a pair or two (yes, the reach of her wallet can go that far, heh) but like any smart lady who also has a family budget, raising a kid and a household to manage, keeping an eye out for shoes she can get at a bargain is a practical work around in exercising the passion. Ah, women and their shoes, eh? Even I’m included. I love shoes, too!

When Mel read my post about the pink and cream flats I bought from Rubi a week or two ago, she didn’t hesitate to tell me she’s interested in getting a pair (or two) as well. Since I’m such a good friend (AHERM), I went back and *tried* to buy them in the colours she wanted. Tried, being the operative word, since I failed on the first trip since I didn’t see any that matched the ones she told me so I had to go back to her to let her know her only choices for colour.

True enough, I was able to get her a pair of Evie Flats in light brown (or what they at Rubi call Camel Fish) as agreed upon and since there was a 2 for AUD$30 deal going on (getting just one pair would’ve cost AUD$ 19.95 which is roughly around Php 894.00 see bargain price here), I was to get her another pair in Red BUT —

Eeep. I ended up getting one in Navy Microfibre instead. The red (Ruby Fish, most likely) had a the garter in black, which was something she mentioned she didn’t like. So, using common sense, I opted for the next best pair that she might like. Well, at least, I hope so! I threw in a cute eco-friendly shoe bag (proceeds of the sale of each bag goes to the Cotton On Foundation) for good measure (and, hopefully, to stay in her good graces).

Dear Mel,

I hope you’re not disappointed with these. I’m excited to see you wear them!
See you soon!

Love,
S

P.S. If you don’t like the navy flats, I’ll be happy to have them for myself! LOL.

Love the shoes but a little bit scared with the blue one. But since I trust your fashion instinct, I’ll still get both pairs ;) and the bag! LOL *muah*

No worries, Mel. Good to know you like them both! :D

Pen, ones left for the Evie Flats are the ones with black garters (red and moss green) er, not unless you want a glossy black? There are more designs like pointy ones. Let me know if you’re interested and what colours you might like. :)

Claire: I actually would’ve opted for the camel instead of the cream pair had I not wanted something closer to white. I esp like it because of the texture. :)

[...] I originally wanted nude and green but according to Sasha, the green flats has a black garter which unlike the other ones has the same or close to the color shade of the shoes. So to end the debacle on the color, I just decided on getting a red pair, my fave color. Unfortunately, the red flats also has a black garter on it. To probably save (her) time, she decided on the color for me. I was actually wondering why she hasn’t called me about it. Then I saw her post. [...]
