Turning a New Leaf and it’s Pink!
The old adage never say never seem quite appropriate at the turn of events for I recently gave in to this incessant curiosity with wearing something pink. For someone who’s highly uncomfortable with the colour, understanding the motivation behind wanting to wear it is as ridiculously dull (pointless, really) as reading the entire book of Numbers in one sitting. Then again, the latter might prove to be a much better use of one’s time. Heh. But what can I say? Maybe it all started when I fell in love with a couple of pink lippies from MAC: Bombshell and Cosmo plus pink blushes. Wearing pink (ish) makeup made me feel more feminine and I grew to like this idea very much.
However, when it came to pink clothes or shoes, it’s a different matter — er, up until a few days ago, that is. I had finally decided to concede to a particular urge to get myself a pair of pink shoes. Why pink shoes you wonder? Reasons are still hazy. This didn’t happen overnight. It took years before the idea became a genuine inclination coupled with a strong compulsion to act. I guess I merely wanted to experiment with the variety of looks that have been brewing in my head for quite sometime now; intensified by the arrival of the necklace.

Since it’s sort of an experiment, I wasn’t going to spend too much on a pair that may just be a passing fancy. It was sheer luck that I came across a fantastic deal in a store I discovered in Westfield Shopping Centre – Marion called Rubi. They had a 2-for-1 special on shoes, which explains why I ended up with 2 pairs instead of just one and they only cost AUD$ 15.00 each (roughly around Php 672.00). I reckon not bad since the flat shoe came in the perfect shade of pink that I wanted to find and this sort of footwear will be easy enough to incorporate into my current wardrobe.
For good measure, I quickly snatched this gorgeous scarf I spotted in the same store. It had big floral prints in varying shades of pink set on charcoal grey. The colour combination, regardless that it’s nothing revolutionary, had marvelously inspired me. For one, I don’t own a printed scarf, much less one with a floral print (most are highly textured and in one colour) and I’ve still quite taken with grey (or so I keep saying, haha). The scarf can serve as a great accent or contrast piece to those that can be considered middle-of-the-road ensembles.

The scarf retails for AUD$ 19.95 (roughly around Php 894.00).
Opening myself to trying new things, grabbing opportunities as they come along can be quite invigorating. The way I see it, change will bring about growth and, no matter how daunting the idea of adjusting to it is, I’d always welcome it. Have you experienced something similar lately? And, yea, how do you feel about wearing Pink?

I want too!
Hahaha! I’ll have to drop by the store again to double check the available colours. As far as I can remember though there are some in light green, red and black. I’ll try to take photos for reference.
How creamy is the cream shoes?
I don’t want black anymore. I like something gray
Love this pair you have, no embellishments
If they’re still on sale and you happen to pass by them again, can you get me a pair?
I so love pink! Can’t wait to see you in it. Those flats are cute too!
Mel: A bit light. Not too creamy. I opted to get that over white. So you just want ONE pair or are you getting two as well?
Toni: Still pacing myself. Soon tho! Thanks!
I can’t decide which color. I need at least one neutral one except black
I’ve also asked my brother to look one for me in Austria, desperate much… LOL
