Surprise, surprise. Teh bag lady had gifted me a bag for my birthday. It’s her thing and I’m lucky since I do get to end up with gorgeous-looking bags. So who’s really complaining? Add the fact that I was around to prod her in the direction of what sort of bag I’d like to have for a gift. PLUS! The gift even came a few weeks early! I so heart my mum!
I wanted something that I can regularly use. I wanted something sturdy and matches my current style mood. With the help of teh bag lady’s eye for these things, we had settled in a compromise — a handbag called Thonen from Aldo.
I’m actually looking for a black bag but this handbag looked more gorgeous in Cognac hence the final choice. You can see it peeking in the mirror in the sartorial (cam-whoring) photo I took and used on this post. And, yes, I’ve been using it for the past few weeks (including the holidays).
“This trapeze-shaped satchel provides the best details and features for your day-to-day needs. Buckle closure. Bold cable stitching.”
Oh, yes. I do love the details: double strap on rivets, the cable stitching, the buckles and my perennial fascination with multiple compartments.
But because of its trapeze shape, the narrowness of the opening can be a bit of a bother. However, on the plus side, it holds more stuff than what I initially expected. I believe this retails for (approx. est.) Php 3,000.00, give or take.
