The decade of teenage dreams and significantly life-changing firsts; filled with discoveries and creativity, time spent undeniably with youthful curiosity which lead to the influx of mistakes and experiential wisdom. It was also the period that introduced me to the genre that shaped my musical and style influences. The 90s will always hold a major piece of my heart.
As you all know, the band that brought us great songs like Hey Jealousy, Found Out About You and Allison Road, recently held a concert in Araneta Coliseum — Gin Blossoms. I first heard of the band when the movie Empire Records came out and one of their songs, Til I Hear From You, was included in the soundtrack together with other bands such as Toad the Wet Sprocket, Better Than Ezra, and The Cranberries. They’re not my particular favourites but they’re up there on my list. When I learned that the band’s scheduled to do a concert in town, I grabbed the opportunity. I’m loving the fact that P and J are avid concert goers, I’ve finally found a great set of folks to enjoy this sort of activity with.

These two made it possible for me to watch the Tears for Fears concert a few months back, wherein, I have to add, I had a surprisingly awesome time! Best concert crowd I’ve ever been a part of, I tell ‘ya.
Anyway, before they picked me up that day, I actually made an unscheduled trip to the salon (again) and ended up having a little something done on my hair. I know, I know. I just had my hair cut recently. I guess, you can say that I’m in a phase wherein I’m constantly restless — fine, I suffer fits of boredom. Meh.

Maybe I should plan things out before even thinking of executing them. But I can’t help wondering, where’s the fun in that? I do stuff on a whim, experimenting along the way, just to experience a surge of excitement. However, it’s not all bad methinks. I like this method since it would (more often than not) produce results that’s out of the ordinary (at least in my case). I love the thrill of being spontaneous. LOL.
Can you spot what I had done? I had my hair rebonded. It will help tame the fly-aways (esp on the shorter layers) and make my long hair a little more manageable. Though, I have to admit that I’ll miss the volume and natural texture my old hair had. I won’t be able to wear it tousled or pulled up in a bun without ruining my hair. I’m seeing myself wearing my hair like this for the next few weeks, er, months even. While it’s still fresh (I’m often like this with every new thing or event in my life), I’m enjoying how it looks which actually inspired me to dress up a little later that night.

I had decided to air out the Babo top which I bought on my last trip to Shoppesville in Greenhills. I fell in love with the lace (something I’m really into right now) and cotton plus the black graphic on a sleeveless white shirt dress. Yes, it’s a dress that I wore tucked in a black and white pinstripe high-waisted cropped trousers (whew!) I got from Sugaritta in Alabang Town Center last weekend then opted to wear my new boots. It was one of those days (perhaps the 90s vibe had rubbed off on me since I was pretty much into exploring the world of fashion and styling then) wherein I was very inspired to do a little bit of styling.

Hey Sasha,
Nice hair!
Where did you have the rebond done and how much for that length? I’m looking around where to have my hair rebonded soon since it’s reaching the unmanageable length. Wasn’t entirely too happy with the rebond of the last salon I went to.
Thanks, Lia! Sorry to hear about your last rebond treatment. Hope this time around it’ll be better. I had mine done by a local hairdresser and he charges from Php 2K for my length. The treatment only took roughly 4 hours which was great. He does house calls too.
Hey Sasha,
You look beautiful! I haven’t been to your site lately….Are you blogging full-time again?
Welcome back! Can’t say I’m on it full-time but yea, I’m finding more time to blog nowadays! Thanks, Lara
Wow. Lovely hair. I wonder if you saw Sandwich at Water Front Hotel in Cebu; Oh in Araneta Coliseum. anyway, Empire records yes that was a great soundtrack, and of course the movie with Liv Tyler. My God, she’s so gorgeous.;-))
Thanks. I did see Sandwich in Araneta.
