Hair Styling Love: OSiS by Schwarzkopf Professional

After a trip to the local supermarket, I was greeted with a surprise as soon as I got home. Sleek white paper bag with the name “Schwarzkopf Professional” printed down the front, my insides went all gooey and giddy that I couldn’t help skipping and grinning as I quickly grabbed my camera to take a few shots of these wonderful gifts.

If you’ve been around a while, you’d know just how bent I am to really learn how to style my hair. However, my schedule won’t permit me spending great lengths in front of the mirror holding a brush and a blow dryer, I still do make an effort on very special occasions (or perhaps when I’m bored, hehe) that I’d actually set aside ample time to work on my hair as part of the preparations. I have to admit that it has been a while since that happened.

For the past few weeks, I’ve been toying with the idea of cutting my hair short (again!) but I’m pushing myself to let it grow at a certain length; long enough to get that cut I’ve always wanted to try out. But we all know that the in-between can drag on for months and months that we’d find ourselves frustrated with a mane that simply looks blah and no styling inspiration to boot. That’s one of the reasons why I actually picked up a few generic hair rollers earlier (plus a spritzer which I was planning to transfer hairspray in cuz of a dispenser fail, heh), an attempt to push myself to work with what I currently have while I make up my mind on what I really want to do with it.

The arrival of these 3 styling products from OSiS by Schwarzkopf Professional is quite timely.

OSIS+ Schwarzkopf Professional, hair styling products | Style Manila - Fashion, Beauty, Shopping, Manila Street Fashion

These are just 3 of the styling products under the OSiS+ line that are further segmented to 4 control levels (light, medium, strong and ultra strong), catering to 3 different styling needs (style, texture and finish). Two of the products I received fall under Control Level 2 (Medium) and focused on Style: SoftN’Straight (Sleek) and Curl Me Soft (Curls). The other product falls under Control Level 3 (Strong) and focused Texture: Thrill.

Other styling products from the OSiS+ line are: Dust It and Buff (Light Control + Texture), Magic Gloss and Sparkler (Light Control + Finish), Session (Strong Control + Finish), and Hold Miracle (Ultra Strong Control + Style – Volume). I’m actually interested in Dust It simply because I haven’t encountered any other styling product like it (yet) that when I read the brief, it really got me curious. But I reckon it’s best used on short (cropped perhaps?) hair rather than on my long hair. Maybe I’ll get my chance if I do get around to cutting my hair short again. Hehe.

OSIS+ Schwarzkopf Professional, hair styling product, Curl Me Soft | Style Manila - Fashion, Beauty, Shopping, Manila Street Fashion

I know it’s really for folks with already curly hair (heads up digitally permed heads, hehe) but I’m wondering if it’s still possible to use it for hair that’s curled temporarily or even in making the curls! Well, I’m sure I’ll get around to experimenting esp since I do have a bottle that I can use. Let’s see if this product will make me a happily curled individual (ok, that didn’t sound right, LOL). Oh, you know what I mean.

Of course, you’ll definitely hear from me on the other two products (no-brainer since I already know I can use those two, heh). I’ve got to find the time to experiment so I can write up the reviews. I’ll do them real soon (maybe when it’s not too rainy, yea?) because I’m excited to use them anyway. We’ll all see if these products are worth a buck and a penny (if I am to judge based on my Essensity experience, it just might impress me!) or if it’s better left in the bin. Soon, folks, soon.

It’s actually good to note on this primer post that these are actually styling products used by professional hair stylists. They’re not readily available in some random beauty store, unfortunately. You have to check with your salon if they actually use and sell these products. But folks from Schwarzkopf say that these are available in leading salons nationwide so that’s a good start, yes?
