Is Havaianas a Part of Your One Hundred?

Dusk just settled when I heard a man call out, “Tao po!” while tapping on our gate. Wait, isn’t it a holiday today? What surprised me more was that he had a package addressed to me with him.

One wrapped package contained a book by Nina Garcia (made famous for her appearances in Heidi Klum’s Project Runway as one of the judges), One Hundred.

It tickled the book lover in me. Though I wouldn’t really buy something like it but I appreciate it all the same. It’s a comprehensive list of must-haves from Nina’s style point of view. Of course, since the book was a gift from Havaianas, a page bookmarked was one on them. Yes, the brand made it into Nina Garcia’s One Hundred.

Havaianas is at it again. And with news of new things to come for the popular flip-flop brand.

The other package contained what initially made no sense to me. A twisted metal with a Havaianas logo? But it said I needed to bring it to an upcoming Havaianas event. Then it hit me — it looked too much like one of those bag holders.

So are we looking at a bag collection from Havaianas? They’ve been introducing a lot of fashion accessories and what not apart from numerous design collections of their primary product, the flip-flop. They’ve been offering bags to house the flip-flops, so does this mean they’re moving into going into the bag scene, too? It’s scheduled to be unveiled early next month so let’s stay tuned for that.

Meanwhile, let’s go back to the original question posted — is Havaianas a part of your One Hundred list? I’ve never really thought of sitting down to make that list but having started to go through Nina Garcia’s list, I’m beginning to see the benefits of making a list for myself.

  1. Ohhhh.. it looks like a new bag collection is in the works! (will definitely check that out)

I’ve seen that book somewhere.. NBS or PowerBooks, I’m not so sure. But that’s something that I would like to look at (not buy). Haha!

Hmmmmmm. Havaianas. I have a pair which I bought from the MYOH event (which I love to bits). I am not a huge fan, but Havaianas will definitely have a spot in my list. ;)

  2. hi ms sasha. yes, definitely havaianas will land on my one hundred. i’m a huge fan!

    • January: Good on ‘ya :)

Ajay: It took me a minute or two to figure it out. If I wasn’t familiar with handy bag holders, I wouldn’t have been able to put two and two together. Hehe

  3. bag hook pala yun? i was actually wondering what that was, hahaha.
