What’s Your Winning Moment?
Yesterday, the streets of Manila were drenched with both rain and cars. EDSA was a bit impossible but it didn’t stop me from hauling my arse to Robinsons Galleria for an event. It promises great fastfood so what the hell, yea? Check out my plate of Greenwich’s Lasagna Supreme.

I’m not a particular fan of the dish. I’m more of a baked macaroni person. Lasagna reminds me of lunch options in highschool (go Bene!) to which ERV’s lasagna didn’t impress my relatively young and inexperienced taste buds (sorry ERV folks. Loved your pork kebabs though!).

Local celebrity Anne Curtis, also one of Greenwich’s celebrity endorsers, was there to celebrate the opening of one of the Greenwich fast casual stores and talk to the media about winning moments. The latter is to toast the latest TVC which promotes the Lasagna Supreme as a reward for winning moments as seen in the situation presented in the TV advert. They all invited folks to share how they’d turn an otherwise unpleasant situation around and come out of it still a winner. Majority got a kick out of the answers made. Some funny, others ridiculously silly. There were moments when I had to focus hard on the small crumb on my table so as not to roll my eyes. LOL.
This caused me to ask the same question via plurk:
Here’s an answer from Jean - “like nadapa ako while performing in CCP and muntik na mahulog sa stage? that was so embarrassing! i was wearing a very long maria clara na fit sa legs with a long trail. i don’t know kung ako or yung partner ko pero somebody step on my trail. nadapa ako flat in the face and almost fell. i looked at my partner, stood up, smiled and danced more gracefully. the audience stood up and clapped for me. LOL pag dating ako backstage after the dance, a tear fell, ang sakit ng bagsak ko tsaka medyo napahiya ako. lol”
I also asked Char and was hoping she’d ask Harold, too, (seen on the photo below) to share a winning moment but I still haven’t heard back from them.

These two always often impresses me with how they express their own personal style. Harold’s pretty polished looking most of the time (why oh why Harold?! LOL) and Char is always gives off this fun, youthful look in her outfits. Always a pleasure to see these beautiful people!
Btw, what do you call that orgasmic dessert I had at Greenwich (post-event) again, Char? I’ve forgotten what it’s called. Twas really worth a trip back to Greenwich, indeed.
In the following months, more Greenwich stores will be sporting the restyled look, giving customers cool spaces where they can relax and enjoy themselves. To date, Greenwich already has over 240 branches, making it the Philippines’ favorite pizza chain.
Before I sign off, let me ask the rest of you. What’s your winning moment? Cite an instance when you’ve handled an unpleasant situation with poise, grace, and a sense of humour. I’d love to hear about your own “Miriam Quiambao” moment (get it?).
P.S. Glad to have met a couple of ladies from Mega’s MEG magazine, Maris & Mich (please tell me if I misspelled your names and do accept my apology if I did!).
