Beauty Shopping at First Aid
These are the stuff that composed the shopping part of the beauty errand we did on that girls’ day out.
Finding myself in a beauty store can feel like being in a bookstore. The latter trumps it all the time, though. Both are equally gratifying. Hehe. I love browsing through shelves and shelves of beauty stuff and I would often come out of the store with a shopping bag in hand (and a smile on my face, hehe). And that day was no different. Besides, I really needed the stuff I bought. Seriously.
We were specifically looking for something but it’s a darn shame there was no tester for the shade she was looking into getting. Er, how can they run out of testers? Sheesh. So, no. She didn’t get it. Heh.
My friend and I hit First Aid in Greenbelt 3.

Finesse Self Adjusting Mousse Extra Control, Fresh & Clean Formula
I know I recently bought the Finesse Self Adjusting Hairspray a few weeks back but I know I’d use the mousse more. It’s all part of my quest to style my own hair. Owning the right tools will help me learn faster, learn more than what I do now.

Goody Stay Put Elastics
And since my hair is now longer plus I love having it up (in a messy chignon, most of the time), one of the must-haves are elastics. A sturdy one, if I may add. I’ve been using the elastics from Goody since I discovered them 4 or 5 years ago. They’ve lasted longer than most of the other elastics I’ve tried and not to mention, they can keep up with my needs. I’ve got thick hair, you see.

Lastly, I needed to replenish my hand sanitizer, a mainstay in my handbag. I dunno with you folks but I love these hand sanitizers from Bench. If you use something else, do let me know. I’d love to look into it.

On hand sanitizers: I LOVE Bath & Body’s anti-bacterial hand foam. It’s not a gel so it’s not sticky.
Sometimes, I find it tacky and arrogant that you should post every single thing you buy. And that comment on bookstores topping beauty stores, puh-lease!
Toni: Oh, cool! Tell me where I can buy them so I can give them a try!
I quote a title of a novel, “To Each His Own”. Can we try to keep comments positive, PUH-LEASE?!
Jean: Yes, ma’am! LOL
What is the purpose of this blog site again? Can you tell me puh-lease, LOL!
Love reading your posts Chica so keep posting. I’ll be waiting.
I reckon folks will benefit from reading the about page, huh? But the gist of it are: all things fashion, beauty, shopping and Manila street fashion. Anyway, working on more posts! Thanks, Cheng
I’ve been a regular reader for quite a while. I find every post informative and amusing. Like product prices are readily available in Sasha’s reviews. That is such a huge help and really convenient too. Keep up the good work Sasha!
Sometimes Goody elastics are “expired”. be wary if the stores put them up on sale. they won’t be “goody” anymore. bought a pack last year at SM. the 1st time i used it, the elastic inside dislocated from the joint. when i told the merchandiser of Goody, she said it’s because i have thick hair, that’s why. she said “hinila nyong masyado”. hay!!! then i asked if these products expire, she said”depende po”. we all know rubber becomes “malutong” after some time….
I was wondering how you plan on using the Finesse mousse. Everyone I know who uses mousse uses it to scrunch their hair into beachy-ish waves. If you’re looking to experiment with hairstyles, I think you should try the hair scrunching method and blog on it. I would be interested to see how that turns out. Maybe you could pair the hairstyle with a more bohemian outfit–just as suggestion.
In regards to Catch a Falling Star’s comment, I, personally, find Sasha’s listing of her purchases and their prices useful to me as a reader. I would like to know what she recommends, her opinions on certain products, and especially whether or not I, myself, can afford her recommended products.
Jen: It’s good to know that you appreciate my blog. Thanks!
Gtc: I reckon that sort of thing can happen. I guess there’s no harm in being wary. An informed consumer is a wise (not to mention practical!) one. Thanks for letting me and the rest of the Style Manila readers
Laurie: There are a number of ways on how I’ll be using the mousse. Apart from creating curls, I need it for volume and laying down a good (easily maneuver-able hair) base and texturising hair. I’ll try to write about it as soon as I get the time. It’s good to know that you appreciate my blog. Thanks!
