Shoe Shopping at Promod

PROMOD, Ballerina/Ballet Flats | Style Manila - Fashion, Beauty, Shopping, Manila Street Fashion

I’d like to say it’s a hot tiangge find but I can’t. This baby caused a Php 2,295.00 dent. But the pair had lessened the blow of the disappointment I faced when the pair of jeans I was looking into getting at Promod wasn’t available. They didn’t have my size in stock and they can’t say if or when they’d re-stock it. Heartbroken as I was, my feelings were easily swayed by this pair of ballerina/ballet flats. I reckon, better a worthy substitute than go home empty handed. What a consolation, eh? Gah.

It had me at suede + zip accent. I needed a new pair of flats anyway esp since I’ve been opting for more comfortable outfits lately. Also, it’s been a while since I last bought a pair of shoes in grey. The pair was only available in that colour. Anyway, I believe it’s good to have more colour options in terms of footwear. Besides, I had already retired the beige suede flats and the pair of CMG ballerina flats is getting too much airtime. And I like the idea that I’ll be experimenting with a different pair of shoes. I can’t wait to see what sort of outfits (though I doubt it’ll be many, heh) I can put together. Don’t you think this sort of styling opportunity is fun?

Ironically, though, having said that my preference leans toward comfort, breaking in this pair had been no where close to being comfortable. It seems that I need to wear socks for a bit until the grip of the elastic loosens up to a more tolerable level. Apart from that misfortune, I love how they look when worn. My feet looked cute and feminine. Hehe.

Incidentally, I did mention that Promod offers shoes as well, yes? I’d recommend that you check their stores out for other designs. Their selection ranges from flat sandals, wedges to heeled t-straps and gladiator-types. Locations include: TriNoMa, Greenbelt 5 (where I bought mine), Megamall (Atrium), Ayala Cebu, and SM Cebu North Wing.

Any of you already own a pair from Promod? If not, hope you ladies can get around to sharing which pair you end up getting. I’d love to know!

It looks nice! I got 2 pairs of ballerina flats too but made of canvas. Only P250 per pair at Ruins. Hehehe.

I wish I could be brave enough to try flats! Heheh. PROMOD hardly has shoes here in Cebu. One - two - three pairs yun lang.

Jen: What a deal! I sorta miss shopping at Ruins. I should check out the place again. Oh dear, more shopping. Btw, I got the beige suede flats at Ruins!

Kristine: I guess I can understand why. I, myself, am averse to wearing certain types of shoes too simply because I don’t like how they look on my feet. Anyway, Cebu has 2 Promod stores, yes? Both can’t boast of a decent number of shoe selections? Oh dear. I hope they do something about that.

Suede, complete with the zipped accent? If yes, cool. Or are you referring to the ballet flats that cost around Php500 pesos?

Nice shoes Sasha! I never buy suede shoes myself because I know that I can’t wear them in the rain. How do you take care of your suede shoes? Or will you just keep them indoors when it’s raining outside? :)

Jill: Still needs more time. I’m being careful not to cause blisters. :(

Camille: Use the shoe cleaner esp formulated for suede. I prefer using kicks, boots, or any closed (water-proof) shoes when it’s raining. I wouldn’t mind the suede getting a bit wet (your concern is applicable to lugging around suede handbags, yes?) But I sure wouldn’t recommend anyone wearing it if faced with flooded streets. I often bring a car so I guess this reflects my preferences.

I like Promod. Sadly the bags and shoes that they’re selling here are not that eye-catching. What I love are their skirts and cardigans, a bit pricey but nice.Though I always prefer Mango or Zara. You have such a cute blog. ;)

Oh, I had shopped for shoes and a bag in Promod. Cool that you appreciate the blog, though. Thanks :)
