PROMOD SS09 Show Samplers
Last Wednesday, I had the pleasure of seeing the PROMOD French Street Style for Spring-Summer 2009 in full motion via a Fashion Show held at the Fashion Walk in Greenbelt 5, Makati City.

With adrenaline pulsing through my veins, a common reaction whenever I watch fashion on the catwalk, I went and claimed my seat and proceeded taking snaps of what’s left of the show. I arrived late you see (darn coding, heh). I’m delightfully surprised that a seat was reserved for me, which enabled me to take snaps of the clothes up close. I love watching fashion shows, don’t you?
I caught glimpses of the Nomadic Trek collection when I got to the venue and continued to enjoy the Pirate Girl and Indi collections. Save for a certain Brazilian model with this odd walk, I enjoyed the show. Don’t ask me why they opted for Brazilian for a French high street clothing store introducing themselves here in Manila; even opted for mestizas, save for a couple of exotic looking Filipinas.
Anyway, here are the Show Samplers as promised:

Grateful for a few more photos sent which gives us a different angle to various collections from PROMOD SS09:

Much appreciated, Char!
This gives the folks more ways to look at the PROMOD clothes. In my last post, a number of readers have shared their thoughts (basing it on the product photos) on PROMOD’s latest collections. They’ve raised valid points, worth considering. I can say that styling is too conservative and photo comp, in a studio no less, didn’t give the clothes justice. I’d recommend location shoots and steer clear of the oh-so-pretty models, go exotic.

I still cannot get over the Dreamy Poet collection; it stands out by a mile compared to the other looks. I like the look and attitude of the model in photos 6 and 12; she pulls off the clothing very well. As for the photoshoots, styling, and especially hair and makeup, I think PROMOD could take a cue from my favorite American store J.Crew. Emphasize the clothes and keep the shoots and hair and makeup clean and simple. Keep everything natural and chic, which will go well with the PROMOD’s very bohemian styles.

The event was spectacular. I particularly like the stage design. The designer of the stage and venue sure made us feel like we were in Paris, very brilliant. Greenbelt 5 was transformed into a High Fashion French Street. The beautiful models gave the clothes an added kick. The Filipino models stood out. The Pmap models had the best walk amongst all the models.
The clothes had this light and bohemian feel to it. Very casual feminine. Someone an everyday woman would wear. Congratulations to PROMOD for the successful launch. You sure had a lot of media present amidst the threat of the Philippine Fashion Week at SMX Convention Center.
