Mad About Jeans
It’s probably due to all the dresses, skirts and shorts that I’ve found myself sporting lately. I was thirsty for some jeans in my wardrobe. It’s not because mine was lacking in that department, mind you, I guess I needed something to spruce up my current selection.
From the moment I realised that I was really looking into buying a new pair of jeans, my appetite to shop for more pairs seemed to have blossomed. It felt like I couldn’t stop with just one pair.
Shopping at Camp John Hay produced another purchase.

This is officially my first pair of Levi’s. I’ve always wanted to get me a pair but inspiration failed me then. I was too distracted with dresses and such, among other things. But since I’m in the mood for jeans, the opportunity was too good to pass up. I was actually looking for a pair of flares (again) but had settled on this bootcut. I fell in love with the color and the wash.

Another detail that I look at is the stitching on the back pockets. But I reckon with Levi’s, simplicity is key. Something I can appreciate. Nothing too elaborate is perfect for my taste.
Levi Strauss Signature, Php 1,520.00.

Then when I got to Bonifacio High Street ahead of Char and Kate after an event, I decided to kill time browsing through the jeans rack in Topshop. Next thing I know I was headed towards the fitting rooms to try on a couple of flares. LOL.

What I like about this pair is that length-wise, it’s perfect for me (L32). I had initially thought that the Petite line would suit me, being 5′3″ and all, however, length came down to just around my ankles. Though the pair fits well, it looks too short. I reckon having long legs, despite the height, would disqualify me from wearing jeans under Topshop’s Petite line.
Btw, this was the mini shopping trip I had mentioned in an earlier post and the reason why Kate and I talked about jeans.
Topshop Denim Moto, Php 2,745.00.
Now, I’m still looking into buying me a couple more. Hopefully, soon! (I guess I’ll be retiring a few pairs to make room for the new ones. Darn small wardrobe space. Heh.)
With my recent purchases, I’m now slowly incorporating jeans back in my outfit repertoire. I know it can still be warm on some days but I’d rather be in jeans on wet days than in dresses, skirts or shorts. I know I’ll be more comfortable that way.
How about you folks? Are you in the market for some new pairs? What’s your current preference? Where do you usually shop for them?

Php1,250 for a pair of Levis jeans? that’s really cheap! was this from an outlet store?
I usually shop for jeans in Topshop, Mango and Dorothy Perkins.
They fit really well and aren’t too long or too short for my 5′5 1/2″ frame.
Right now my favorite’s definitely my high waist wide leg jeans from moto. It’s my perfect lazy day pair. They’re super comfortable without making me look completely underdressed and LOL I think they make me look taller and thinner. It also doesn’t hurt that I got in on sale for less than 500 pesos.
Oh I would never have guessed that you were 5′3″! You look so much taller in pictures.

My favorite jeans at the moment. I like Slim Straight =).
Jillsabs: It’s from an export overruns/factory outlet store in CJH. I’ve forgotten what it’s called. I reckon I need to rummage through my receipts again. Toinks. But don’t Levi’s sell pairs along the range of Php 1,500.00 (same as mine) too?
Tasha: Oh, cool. I like wide leg jeans. Less than 500? Where didja get it?! About my height, I reckon it’s because I have long arms and legs plus the fact that I’m skinny. People often think that I’m taller than I actually am. LOL
GJ: Fantastic choices!
i think if the pair is on sale, then the price can go as low as Php1,250, but generally a pair of Levi’s go for Php2,000. Or I could be wrong, because I haven’t gone inside a Levi’s store in years:p
I got a pair of Levi’s here at TEC at their head office during a sale for P750. But lemme just say that’s a very good deal at P 1,250!
(Er, why do folks keep saying I got my pair for Php 1,250.00 when I already specified the price on the post? It’s Php 1,520.00! LOL)
Jillsabs: I guess best way to find out is visit Levi’s again to refresh all of our memories!
Tara: 750?! Whoa. That’s fantastic!
I like True Religion and those from People are People.
I’m 5″9 so I really am conscious about the length of my jeans, plus I have a very pear shaped physique. And the jeans here in the Phils are mostly for petite frames. That, or I dont know any better.
So anyway, I got a True Religion pair in the states for a sale price of P4,000 for what actually costs P10,000.
Whoa. You’re tall! Maybe you can check out Theodore The Store in Bonifacio High Street. They carry quite a selection in denim. I hear they were on sale recently.
ooops! sorry about that! got cross-eyed there for a moment:p
No worries, Jill.
Yeah, I’ve heard of Theodore’s too. Maybe I should go check it out.:) Thanks sasha!
No worries! I’m planning to check the place out myself.
I have a pair of Levi’s. I’ve always wore dresses and skirts but now i get them i feel like wearing them all the time and leave all my closet. I am so in love with the combination of these jeans, the colors and all are just perfect for me.Thank you sasha!
