Baguio Report, Major Packing Booboo

4 May 2009 1,817 views 6 Comments

I’m back in Manila after a long weekend away, cooling my arse off in the Summer capital of the Philippines — the ever beautiful Baguio.

I would’ve loved it if I’m here to tell you about the wonders of travel and the picturesque landscapes but, believe it, I have to start off with a major packing booboo. LOL.

I’ve grown to love traveling in flip-flops esp since it’s Summer. I really wasn’t sure if I can weather the cold weather wearing such (which I oddly did, btw) but I wanted to take with me the new pair of sandals which I recently bought from Charles & Keith in Glorietta.

This pair has been a favourite since it’s very comfortable to wear. Retails for Php 1,249.00.

If you haven’t guessed what happened yet, let me fill you in. I forgot to bring the pair. Gah. I had decided to wear my well-traveled pair of Chucks since it’s going to be a long drive (better safe than sorry esp since I had precious cargo with me). I wanted to kick myself for having had packed at the last minute (right before I left). Not only that — I didn’t bring any other footwear. I was right to call it major packing booboo, yes?

What did I end up doing? Well, buy myself a pair of flip-flops.

Oh, what joy! My aching feet and toes have been allowed to breathe the cool, fresh air of Baguio — Camp John Hay to be exact. Heehee! Funny how I know it’s cold (and sometimes wet) but I didn’t mind. I have to admit that I sort of miss it now that I’m back in Manila.

Havaianas Slim in Brown, Php 795.00.

Initially, I had planned on buying me some cheap ones, probably around the Php 50 range but with all the places we’ve already checked out (save the market in town), I wasn’t able to find me something I’d be comfortable wearing. So when I spotted the Havaianas store in Camp John Hay, I didn’t think twice in getting me my 5th pair of Havs. Sheesh. This is me, claiming impartiality. Seriously. I have no plans of collecting but I am wishing I got the green pair, though! Toinks. LOL.

Anyway, more stories on my Baguio trip on later posts!
