I reckon ones we use for grocery shopping is useful since that sort of shopping is something we need to do, frequently at that. Any sort of discount, rebate or something we can get from owning that shopping card is most welcome. I guess it's true that shopping cards like that one you got from SM and Rustan's can be a bit impractical esp when you had to pay to get one.

I got mine for free from Shopwise- Rustans grocery, I am enjoying it cuz I get 100 for 10000 points and 1 point is equivalent to 1 peso.. I usually buy groceries there and one pay day costs me around 4 grand! I guess for groceries and for medicines like Mercury suki Card which I seldom use cuz I use Citibank Mercury Credit card so I can earn rebates- it is relevant and useful but for shopping, like I have SM and Rustans card, I paid 150 for all of them and I dont get to shop that often from their stores- not very useful..
