Style Fetish: What’s Yours?

5 February 2009 2,062 views No Comment

Hats. There’s something about them that enamoured me from the start. From baseball caps to colourful straw hats. I remember visiting Baguio, insisted that my mum buy me a bowler hat that I spotted in one of the flea markets in Minesview Park. Another is when we went to Hundred Islands and brought home that wide and wavy brimmed straw hat.

Had I kept all these hats that I had bought since I was young, I would’ve set myself up with a pretty decent hat collection. But we all know how clumsy and irresponsible children get. Besides, I wasn’t interested in fashion then in the way I’m interested in it now.

So, I’m only starting to collect hats again, together with headpieces. I bought a new one in one of the popular commercial brands in Australia, Portmans, over at Rundle Mall. This reminds me of the Hat I bought from G Star on Bridge Road when I visited Melbourne a few years back. It seems like with every trip to the land down under, I bring hats back with me. LOL.

Anyway, there. Another personal style fetish are hats. I already mention that earrings are on the list, too. So, what about you folks? Share your style fetish?

P.S. When I say style fetish, I’m talking about a style element that has to come out of the ordinary; pieces you add on to your look that can ordinarily be dropped but you include them anyway.
