A Well-Traveled Pair of Chucks

It’s not enough that this pair of Chuck Taylors have roamed the streets of Manila. They actually traipsed around Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam and trekked the temples in the Angkor region in Siem Reap, Cambodia. Now, they’re sashaying around Adelaide and its surrounding places. Keeping my feet warm and cozy in the cold (and sometimes wet!) Australian weather. They’re mighty comfortable, too!
To be honest, I brought it with me for styling reasons but while packing, I remembered just how much walking I did whilst there so I reckon it’ll be a practical choice for some occasions, too. I soon found out that another great thing about having it with me was because of the cold weather. I was expecting Summer!
Don’t you love it when you know that the pair of shoes you own have traveled with you? I do. That’s probably why I make sure that I make room for a number of pairs in my luggage. Hehe. Just can’t seem to part with some of them even when there’s a possibility that I’d get a new pair.

I love my chucks as well!
Whenever we travel I make sure I bring a pair of chucks with me. At the end of the trip it’ll be muddy and dirty but that’s fine because I know it’s been to a special place with me.
I reckon I like my Chucks looking dirty than “clean” (if you know what I mean). I’m one of those we-like-’em-dirty Chuck owners, I guess. What about you, Rachel? Which group do you belong to?
i just got my classic chucks and im kind of hesitating to use it,,,fearing tha it might get destroyed or somesort…hahhah,,,anyway….i hope i too can travel with it…hmmmmm…
Cool. I totally understand your hesitation but I’m sure it’ll feel more valued if you wear them than keeping it inside the shoebox. LOL. And, yes, go travel with it. I’m keeping my fingers crossed for ‘ya.
[...] what happened yet, let me fill you in. I forgot to bring the pair. Gah. I had decided to wear my well-traveled pair of Chucks since it’s going to be a long drive (better safe than sorry esp since I had precious cargo [...]
My comment is in no relation to Chucks because I don’t have a pair (my feet are wide for them..boohoo!) I bought this pair of Earthwalk black slippers when I went to Bora last ‘04 and I’ve been bringing it there until ‘07. For almost four years (with 2-3 Bora trips a year) that was my official pair of tsinelas. I just remembered what you said a bout having a footwear and knowing that it has been a part of your travel. That when you see them, you’ll remember the memories you had while wearing them
