A Quick Trip to PCX
By Sasha Manuel
Finding myself in a mall can be dangerous to my wallet. We initially just planned on having Pepper Lunch for, er, lunch but we ended up walking up and down Power Plant window shopping AND shopping, too.
A quick trip to PCX Boutique had me leaving the store with these mini beauty haul:

Beauty Basic Sponge, priced at Php 39.75 for four (4) sponge slices, which you can probably use 8-10 times. This will depend on the usage though. I thought since I’ve been doing a lot of makeovers recently, investing a few pesos on a disposable makeup tool (which I don’t normally use) can prove to be beneficial esp since I like using liquid foundations.

bench/ clearpore Charcoal Cleansing Strip, priced at Php 22.00. I’ve never used a pore strip. Ever. I don’t have blackhead problems anyway so I never saw the need. But I’ve always been curious so this ought to be an interesting experiment. I’ll let you guys know as soon as I’ve tried it out.

Maybelline Volum Express Turbo Boost Waterproof Mascara, priced at Php 399.00. I was rushing that morning since my ride’s already waiting (and raring to go!). I usually apply mascara last so, in my haste to get out of the house, I had forgotten to apply it and failed to bring a tube in my kit. I had wanted to apply one badly so I was itching to grab a tube as soon as I reached the mall. I told myself that I can do a review on it anyway so that’s a good excuse, yes? LOL.
Update: Eastern Experiments: Maybelline Volum Express Turbo Boost Waterproof Mascara
That’s it. I told you it’s just a mini-haul. I had spent Php 460.75 in total. What about you? Have you bought any beauty stuff lately?

[...] A recent trip to a local beauty shop PCX Boutique over at Power Plant Mall in Rockwell, Makati City had me reminiscing hence the purchase (well, apart from the fact that I failed to put on mascara that morning and wanted to apply one badly). After a short chat with the sales person about the current mascara selection from Maybelline wherein she patiently pointed out the main differences among the ones on display and highlighted the function of the one I chose. [...]
Not much on the cosmetics department coz I rarely wear make-up anyway. But I always have grocery finds like Celeteque and Pond’s stuff.
i bought that mascara before… works well.. though i find it clumpy
well… your verdict :p
Dianne: For skincare,I used to be a huge Pond’s girl but I moved on to try new things. I’m loving Neutrogena right now.
Marion: There’s a link to the short review found in the post. That is, if you’re interested to read my “verdict”.
I like the iwhite pore cleansing cream better compared to the Bench ones. for the iwhite, you apply it using your forefinger all over your nose, so you wont miss a spot, unlike the bench ones which are pre-made and does not cover the surface of the nose. I think iwhite is also cheaper. You can get about 2-3 uses out of the satchet.
I think Neutrogena is good too. There are a lot of Neutrogena products that I would love to purchase(e.g. the Rapid Clear set) but they’re not available here in the Philippines. Huhu.
I like PCX because they used to have all these imported shampoos and conditioners from Japan, but I haven’t been at PCX in a while so I’m not very updated on what they have these days. Thanks for posting!
[...] with people touching their skin). That’s why I thought it’s quite practical to buy me a few of them sponges to use on future [...]
I have Maybelline as a backup mascara and for daily use too. Love my Nichido! Thanks for suggesting it!
I use sponge since I am using press powder and I find it useful buying such sponge since it is just cheap and convenient for me to use
Maryjoyce: I haven’t tried iwhite. I’ll keep an eye out for it. Thanks!
Dianne: I love the Neutrogena classics. I’m particularly loving the body oil right now.
Rowena: I know what you mean. I was looking for japanese stuff when I was there. I can’t even find beauty tools much less beauty products.
Tessa: No worries! Glad you love it!
Virlyn: Sponge for press powder? Good on you then.
I really want your EA bronzer! And I also want to get a shu Cleansing Oil!
recently bought 2pcs Medium-Coverage Foundation from Mary Kay and Splash Hair Polish which i am using before curling my hair
the sponge from PCX is a good buy, will get one too.
@January - I hear Mary Kay foundation is good. How’s your experience with it?
Most of the stuffs inside my makeup kit are giveaways or hand me downs but i plan to buy some of my own. what would be a good make up investment? Btw, do you have to air dry makeup sponges from time to time? because i think a certain smell builds up if you don’t.
I haven’t been in any of the pcx store. I think I should try to check it.
No more Japanese stuff?
