Hi I would just like to comment of Katrina Sam. I think the pioneer in making Filipino indigenous bags in modern style is Cora Jacobs from the 70’s. I recently met her in Amsterdam and she was a designer for fashion houses like Dior, Givenchy and Yves Saint Laurent even before our brilliant modern designers came into picture. Nonetheless, I am very proud that a lot of young artists followed her steps.

I’ve been buying bags from Aranaz from their bazaar days. Their prices really have increased from their early days in the business. But i’ve noticed along with the price increase is also a better level of quality and raw materials so i dont mind paying. In fact i have seen their designs being duplicated by some “aranaz-wanna-be designers” in the market now. I continue to support aranaz coz they are the pioneers in making filipino indigenous style modern and fashion forward.

I’m a bagaholic and know my designer bags well. after i saw some of the bags at their boutique, i was kind of disappointed. well here’s one bag i recently noticed which kind of reminded me of my prada.

Andie: Sorry to hear that. I know we’re all entitled to our own opinions but a word of caution, you have to check for facts before speaking allegations like that. I’ve seen Aranaz bags and ones from Prada, Bottega and such, I haven’t seen any semblance.

nice promo! however i disagree, i have an aranaz bag which i bought way before they opened a store in rockwell. had to return the bag a few times even before i used it as the beads kept unraveling. i personally think their bags are overpriced for designs that have been “inspired” by major brands such as Prada, Bottega, and Pierre Hardy.
