Hat Momma and Friends Christmas Bazaar
By Sasha Manuel
With all the bazaars and sale events up on the shopping calendar, it’s truly the season for shopping. You can’t help but stumble on shopping events cuz they’re all seemingly happening everywhere! One good example would be yesterday’s find. I had come across the Hat Momma and Friends Christmas Bazaar at the Rockwell Tent after lunch and coffee.
Just an observation, great thing about bazaars is that you veer away from buying the more commercialised and, not to mention, expensive brands and go for the unique and often locally made, export quality items at a much, much cheaper price. Choosing the latter will not automatically mean you’re sacrificing style cuz these items have something offer and, sometimes, more. However, it’s understandably less appealing for the brand-conscious.
Take for instance, Hat Momma with her fabulous looking hats. I’m a frustrated hat-collector and seeing all the gorgeous hats on display had stirred me, leaving me itching to bring my collection back into life.

I was fortunate enough to have met The Hat Momma herself, Lourdes Laurena, wife to the famous architect Roland Laurena.

Lou Laurena is responsible for organising the Christmas Bazaar. She’s wearing one of her own.
Her stall has her official Hat Momma model milling about to show the hat worn and even friends like Belen Arambulo-Lizaso wears a wispy, romantic hat number.

If interested, you can get yourself your own Hat Momma by visiting the Christmas Bazaar today (last day!) or in case you miss the bazaar, from Discovery Suites Boracay, Sonya’s Garden Tagaytay, House of Laurel, Dita Sandico Ong, Luzon Rattan Ind., Baby Land, Kameraworld, etc. or call (632) 840 2023.
House of Laurel is located at 6013 J.D. Villena Street, Poblacion, Makati City.
Luzon Rattan Industries is located at G/F LRI Business Plaza, 210 Nicanor Garcia Street, Bel Air II, Makati City.
