Just learned that Converse had launched their latest collection of big and bold designs for Fall 2008. I had asked when the collection was launched but failed to get an answer. I did a bit of research though and found out that the Fall preview happened last June.

This season Converse pays homage to The Grateful Dead and Kurt Cobain, top caliber musicians and prolific songwriters who have undeniably influenced pop culture with their unconventional taste for style and revolutionary music.

Owning a pair of Converse had been a dream realised. If you’re one of us, a huge fan of the brand and the lifestyle, then you just have to have at least one pair. I started with the classic Chuck Taylor black canvass hi and I’m looking into getting the more disruptive sort, perhaps one from the latest collection. We’ll soon see.

For now, I’m window shopping and here are my picks from the lot sent to me:

Varied designs to fit every personality and need but Converse is already known to possess the perfect attitude that meets desirable comfort. On style and function, it gets fantastic marks for both.

Other design options include: RED CT AS Hi (Php 2,630.00), Angeles LE Ox (Php 2,630.00), Wade 3.0 Mid (Php 5,830.00), Wave Trainer Ox (Php 3,990.00), Red CT AS Hi (Php 2,950.00), Volitant 2 Mid (Php 3,350.00), All Star Light Ox (Php 1,930.00), and CT AS Multi Upper Hi (Php 2,630.00).

You can also try these places and see if they’re available: Concept Shop - Festival, OV World, Toby’s Glorietta, OV Gateway, Sta. Lucia East Grand Mall, SM Megamall, SM North Edsa, SM Makati, SM Mall of Asia, SM Fairview, SM Manila, SM Cubao, and SM Las Piñas.

Heywaitaminute! How come these designs didn’t look like the ones I’ve seen on the preview as seen here and here. In fact, the photos sent to me didn’t include the ones in the top image. I guess, that’s why things didn’t add up when I was looking things over. Curious. Hmmm.

Ah, well. Hope you guys have fun shopping.

    Hi Sasha,

The Fall collection in the Philippines was officially launched this OCTOBER, and the designs are only available here in the Philippines and according to Converse Phils “SOME ARE AVAILABLE WORLDWIDE, DEPENDING ON OTHER ASIAN COUNTRIES’ DESIGN PREFERENCE THAT WILL SUIT THEIR MARKET”

    Thank you.

Hi Sheila, the press release sent to me had indicated designs inspired by Kurt Cobain and The Grateful Dead, which makes the designs available in Manila (or Asia) not really applicable. Perhaps a re-write should have been in order? :)
Thanks for posting the Converse response to my questions here.

I’m not the biggest rubber shoe fan (because of college’s corporate attire call), but I adore the Converse - Jack Purcell Specialty from this collection! I’m thinking about getting one (Christmas wishlist!) for my shoe rack hahaha!

Way back in high school, i envied my classmates who had their own converse shoes… i love sneakers… it’s so comfortable… now, i have 2 pairs of converse… a chuck taylor in red and in pink… i wanted to acquire a white chucks or a light green one.. i still cannot decide… but i am not really in a hurry acquiring it… 2 pairs of chucks is way better than none at all just like before.

Converse chuck taylors look better when they are worn-out, and they remain comfortable over the years :)
