Styled: Sylvie

Do you remember puberty? That awkward stage of deciding to leave behind childish inclinations and embrace womanhood at its early phase? Well, during my trip to Palawan last weekend, I had the chance to get a glimpse of this 11-year old girl’s initial steps into the kikay world of teenage girls.
Sylvie was much too shy but has this smile that you will only see on a young girl. I knew she wanted to learn how to fix herself up esp since she was so fascinated with “grown up” stuff like makeup and fashion accessories. She was drawn to my brown scarf and had asked how it was worn and such. Then came a styling idea.
She had preferred to wear her hair loose, either as personal preference or as having limited ideas on how to style it. You can also see puberty on her skin, which yu can’t help but sympathise since you yourself went through it. I had suggested that she tie her hair to make it look neat and somehow would help lessen skin irritations. Then I proceeded to work my way around to dressing her head up with the scarf. Somewhat a dramatic way of showing her how showing her face will help brighten her over-all look.
It’s quite a simple way of introducing the styling idea to someone as young as Sylvie. Hopefully, it created a lasting impression, too. Enough to allow her to consider it in the future. I had let her try on a friend’s earrings and dab on lipgloss to complete the look.
Taking her photo was a bit of a challenge, being that she’s too shy. Paparazzi’d her instead. She took everything off and decided to do the same thing on me. Want to see what mine looked like? Check out Sasha in Boho-style.

how did you do the scarf on her head?
Just wrapped it around her head then tied the scarf in a bun at the base.

The scarf greatly complemented her skin tone! Her natural tan looks amazing!
