Philippine Fashion Week Talk, Free ARTISTRY™ Goodies!

By Sasha Manuel

To share some of the love, I’ll be giving my Philippine-based readers a chance to win a few ARTISTRY™ beauty goodies.

I’ll be raffling off the following:

ARTISTRY™ Lip Colour Creme in Neutrale (1)
ARTISTRY™ Lip Colour Sheer in Sandrine (1)
ARTISTRY™ Light Reflective Lotion SPF 15, Blushing Radiance (1)
ARTISTRY™ Waterproof Mascara in Brown (1)
ARTISTRY™ Makeup brushes (1 set)
ARTISTRY™ Vanity Kits (6)
ARTISTRY™ Vanity Bag with mirror (1)

All you have to do is leave a comment on this post, answering this question, “What did you think of the recent Philippine Fashion Week?”. Make sure that you leave your name and a valid email address cuz that’s how your entry will be verified.

Every comment is counted as an entry so long as you’re adding onto the conversation. (Important note: Be nice. I have the right to disqualify a comment if it’s off-topic/spammy/offensive.) Main point here is to have this conversation and learn from each other. AND my way of saying thank you for participating in the conversation is the Artistry Raffle. How does that sound?

Since I also write for two (2) other blogs: Beauty Bento Box and Tops 2 Bottoms, I’ll also be starting conversations there wherein you’re also free to join!

This will last till the end of the month, 30th June 2008, 11:59pm. Raffle will be on 01 July then the list of winners with corresponding prizes will be posted on 02 July 2008. Winners are given 3 days to get in touch with me, sending in particulars like full name and mailing address. Failure to meet the deadline will result to my drawing a new winner.

Now, let’s start talking!

I just think that “some” of the clothes presented in the Philippine Fashion Week were a less fashion forward. I would love to see something that has a Filipino touch. Or maybe it was just me being nationalistic because of the recent celebration of Independence day.

It kind of points out how “baby” we are compared to others. But the show was promising. I’m excited to see those designers rise up and really make a name for themselves in the future.

First off, i love the ARTISTRY show! I totally didnt expect it and it goes to show that fashion is not only about the fit and the figure that comes with it. It gives out the message that fashion is a branch of art and that it stretches out well beyond needles and threads.
Second, I quite agree with Maria on some point. Some of the dresses there were way too simple and honestly, the others look almost the same as what i see in the stores. However, I am impressed with the gowns. I could see that it has a lot of subtle details and just by looking at the pictures, I know it took a lot of planning and effort into making it.

I got excited about PFW (although I didn’t get to attend because of work) that I read every article I’ve seen in the Internet and broadsheets! I think our fashion designers are talented and it will be a dream come true if Manila becomes on the world’s most fashionable cities.

since i haven’t been to any fashion show, i surf the internet for blogs that feature these. i’ve always wanted to go but never had the chance. i’d love to see the clothes not only on the runway, but also on the people attending the event. i’m sure to see a lot fashionable people in there and hopefully get inspiration from them.

It’s nice to know that we have events like PFW! (and a contest at stylemanila).AS I browsed,PFW showcased different flavors of fashion. Though summer collection is a bit late, I still adore cover ups!PLus the new and edgy designs from budding designers. Hope I can attend PFW 2009 to be able to support and rock the fashion world!

though I wasn’t able to go, based on the entries here, i won’t necessarily comment on whether the fashion being presented has improved from previous years’ shows, but what i think is getting better is the effort being done to put together this show. i think adding artistry to the line up has definitely spruced it up a bit, and i wouldn’t be surprised if there will be other fashion/beauty related products/lines that will be clamoring to sponsor or be part of future shows!
