Though this is far from being The Perfect Mascara for me, it sure is a cool change from what I was used to. This Waterproof Mascara from ARTISTRY™ is part of the beauty loot they gave me. It came together with other ARTISTRY™ Cosmetics (this, this, and this), among other things.

Packaging was very simple. It looks like what a normal mascara would look like. Yea, a bit bland. Nothing elegant about it but it sure is light. It did even make me wonder if it had anything in it, which was a bit strange.

What really got me excited was that it was brown mascara. Odd, yea? Well, I used to buy brown-black mascaras before but never just plain brown. I was excited to give it a go. I did and was both impressed and “oh, that’s it?” (if you know what I mean).

Good points were it’s easy to apply. I even tried it on my eyebrows. No clumps. Lashes look thicker and more lush after application. It IS waterproof and smudgeproof. I had splashed some water on my face last night (twas too hot, looking to cool myself) with the intention of washing my face but I had to attend to something important so I went and dried off. That’s when I noticed I still had the mascara on and intact. Cool.

As for a few let downs, I was expecting a noticeable change in hue and appearance. There’s no change. I mean, yea, it’s darker and it has the “mascara” look but nothing really special. The lashes only look thicker up close. And it does not make the eye lashes look longer so forget what them sales people keep pitching you. Not true.

Anyway, it’s a good mascara for everyday use. For them ordinary occasions. It’s good for natural looking makeup and daytime makeup.
