New Specs
So, I got a bit of a scare last Sunday night when my right eye got massively irritated. Good thing that teh boyfriend’s cousin is an eye doctor and had anti-biotics eye drops at hand, which stabilised my eye a bit. I was advised to take off my contacts and have them replaced or, like what I ended up doing, buy a new pair of specs.
I’ve always preferred plastic frames than wires, apart from the fact that I’m not too keen on nose pads, it’s probably because I find it less uptight-looking or, better yet, it matches my style more. I’m reminded of my first pair back when I was in second year high school. Twas gold-trimmed wire specs, which I reckon I still used all through Uni. Gawd. I looked much older. I dropped it and switched to coloured and clear contact lenses and kept a really cheap pair of tortoiseshell frames as back-up. I was looking for a replacement (specs) ever since last year but, somehow, keep forgetting until, well, when I really had to buy new ones.
I bought this pair over at Sarabia Optical in Robinson’s Galleria for Php 4,065.00 with discount. The frame is Fornarina in Grey and Black and lenses are Crizal, multi-coated.
Oh, I got this bit from the Optometrist who waited on me. She claims that these type of specs are currently pretty popular. She also added that the trend for specs are the two-toned plastic frames and one colour is usually bright or bold like red or orange (usually on the earpieces). Who would’ve thought I’d get this bit of info, yeah? Then again, they do know their bestsellers, eh?

Somehow, I feel glad that nearly-horn-rimmed are fashionable.
Is that cuz you’re concerned about my eyes?

A lot of people I know wear specs as an accessory. They don’t really need a pair, but they like the styles and designs of eye glasses so they end up buying! I prefer contacts, though. Brown is my fave. (^_^)
