Bandannas and Awesome Eye Makeup

Colourful Panels, Eye Makeup

Sometimes, it’s not the dress, top or shoes you’re wearing that will make your look stand out. Sometimes, it’s your headgear or even your makeup that will get people to notice you.

To Phoebe’s utter dismay, there were a number of other women sporting the bandanna the night we partied with Steve Aoki. Twasn’t like throngs of people were wearing them, twas just that since it’s uncommon to see that much people don the look at the same time. Nevertheless, Phoebe still pulled it off fabulously and did not end up going home that night. Thank god!

Another thing that made her look stand out was her awesome eye makeup. It made me realise that even when the rest of your outfit is simple, i.e. no blinding blings, show-stopping tall boots, or eye-popping sequined short, short dress that you might mistake her for forgetting to put on some pants, the bandana and eye makeup is THE look.

With all the fashion accessories I spotted that night — believe me, I saw a whole lot of them — it’s the bandanna that created a huge impression on me. I applaud the people who can pull it off (says she who’s too chicken to even think about trying). And with more and more makeup readily available, not to mention, affordable to the masses, plus makeup tutorials you can easily find on the web, getting creative in applications will greatly improve their over-all style.

On that note, I fervently hope that all the fashion victims I unfortunately saw that night will take a step back and re-think their style strategies. Wearing the trends will not automatically make you a fashionista. Please. I say this not to make fun of you but to simply help you realise your folly. There’s no harm in asking for some style help from time to time!

[...] Feathers, shimmer, sheer fabrics, glitzy embellishments — everything inspired by the woods, leaves and petals. Fantasy realised. It’s quite a leap for us ordinary fashion folk but hey it sure is fun to imagine how this imp-ish look will come into life on the streets. I reckon it can start off with them plumage accessories. Beauty will play a huge role in pulling off the look like putting on some awesome eye makeup. [...]

The eye makeup is too much for me. Not a fan of bandanas either. :(

Who would have thought bandanas would make such a fashion piece? And years ago, they are only used to cover/shield yourself from sun rays.

Nice make up too! Something I would consider when I am out to party! :)
