I Like Them Tall & Flat

12 October 2007 1,160 views 12 Comments

Cold and wet weather has its good points and bad points. Esp the wet part. I’m one of those people who don’t like getting their feet wet. Fashion-wise, this kind of weather allows a different sort of style to emerge. Simply because there are certain fashion pieces, both apparel and accessory, that aren’t suitable to our normal warm and humid weather.

If you’ve been around long enough, you’d know how much of a shoe person I really am. Naturally, I put weight on the shoe department in addressing situations like rainy or cold days. Anyway, I told you about the Bootie trend, right? Boots are quite practical during this sort of weather since it can shield off the rain and will keep your feet warm. I know booties are getting quite popular esp since it’s becoming more available but I seem to have found myself inclined towards a different set of boots. I’m realising that I like them tall and flat.

My head is filled with styling ideas! I really can’t explain it but I’ve been lusting over flat tall boots for quite a while now. I’m hoping I’d get my hands on a pair real soon. I’ll let you guys know if I do.

All boots are available at Nordstrom

Consider me envious. Your cousins and aunts are lucky! It is trendy and only advisable to the fashionably bold and confident. LOL. :)

I wish you’d do justice to these shoes by specifying from what materials they are made of, their thickness, their trimming, etc. You might have just copied this from any other website anyway. Why not go the extra mile by actually analyzing what kind of shoes they are.

Uhm, you are a fashion expert, aren’t you?

I copied and credited the images but the post copy is fully mine. As for the data you wanted to get, it’s easily found in the place I found the images. The post wasn’t meant to educate on and sell the shoes themselves but was focused on the idea that “I Like Them Tall and Flat”. I apologise if there was any confusion.

And, oh, I’m no fashion expert I just love it. What about you? :)

You’d look awesome in a pair! Remember the photo of the outfit wherein you were wearing one? It looked really cool!

Boots are fashion faves here in Baguio because of the weather (and yeah, they’re hot).

Oh, did I mention that boots cost around 300-1000 here in Baguio? A lot of ukays sell them (some are even branded).

Hi Sash, I’ve been thinking about this now that summer is fast approaching. Probably most gals wanna know your thoughts about summer and short flat boots in the office (”short” boots that’s around 8″-9″ high compared to tall ones that are like, 12″-13″) - I think short boots are uber cute with dresses or skirts! What’s your take on this?

  • Sasha Manuel (author) said:

My two cents — It all depends on the wearer, me thinks. Yes, I agree that booties or short boots can really be a fabulous style element. But, for practical reasons, I would prefer to wear something more comfortable and suitable to the weather. However, even when I do know that the office A/C can be good enough reason to get away with it but the weather outside poses a real concern. Summer will always mean fun and flirty to me so most of the outfits I’d end up wearing will translate this.

I’ll try to write up a feature on this to further expound on the idea. Perhaps I can look up some styling ideas for you folks who are interested in wearing boots for Summer.

    Thanks, Stacey! :)
